Today, my youngest turned 15, and it is unreal how fast it goes by. I get frustrated because she doesn’t allow pictures anymore, because I feel like I am going to have a blank space of years where she (and her sister) have literally no photographic evidence of their existence, except maybe the back of their head somewhere.

I may have to plead for one just so I have something, nothing to post publicly.

She went from a camera lover to a hater in the blink of an eye.

She is basically a Christmas baby, so we have always made sure to treat her birthday and Christmas VERY separately because I know how easy it would be to combine the two days.

The cake I made her was good. The crust was quite thick, so I think I would make it a lot thinner if we make another. But it had a summery vibe to it which was nice.

Now I don’t have to bake a cake for almost a year, and for that I am thankful. I hate baking more than I hate cooking.

I ended up buying that oversized turtleneck shirt from Zara that was in my last capsule post and it was as good as I hoped. The neck perfectly stands up but is also loose, giving a funnel neck vibe.

I am going to get a lot of use from this.

Also, those vintage pieces that I was talking about actually arrived so I will be sharing them this week.

One is a Yohji Yamamoto blazer from 1995, and the other is a Y2K boot from Costume National which is an Italian brand.

They are fabulous.

Did you see that Puma put out an Isabel Marant style wedge sneaker, which means that we are going to see a resurgence of these based on how fast they sold out.

I managed to grab a pair before they were gone.

They are impossible to find in stock at the moment, but don’t fall for the inflated price of a reseller because they are supposed to be planning a restock and possibly other colourways.

I got mine at Browns, which is a Canadian store, but they only have an 8 left. Anthropologie has a waitlist set up for their restock.

The colour they show is the darker brown that I got; they just tend to really lighten their photos for some reason.

So yeah, I talked about them circling back last year, but it seems to be a bit slower than I thought, so if you still have your Marant wedges kicking around, it might be time to let them back out into the world.

Except this time I’m not doing the skinny jeans thing with them. I tried on skinny jeans the other day just for a good laugh and noped out of them really fast.

Absolutely not comfortable, not were they cute on me. Not happening again.

Moral of the story, hold on to your favourite trendy pieces because they always cycle back. Except skinny jeans. May they burn for eternity.
