Weekly Secondhand Finds (Vol. LV)

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

Holy jeez, friends, I cannot believe how close we are to Christmas. I feel like we are in some weird time warp that sped everything up. So crazy.

So I assume most are done with Christmas shopping because of online shopping deadlines, but obviously, if you shop in person, you still have some time to complete.

I picked up the stocking stuffers yesterday, because I had actually forgotten about them. Then I saw some in a store and had an “oh shit I almost forgot” moment.

During the stocking stuffer shop, I went to the pharmacy and got myself a flu shot, and I am planning on bringing the girls in for theirs by the end of the week.

So this week my finds are all about the types of things that I find myself looking for, like this tiger print coat with awesome teal lining.

Tiger print is a great alternative to leopard print.

And wedge boots and sneakers, like these ponyhair pair. They have an Isabel Marant wedge boot look, and I love them.

Speaking of Isabel Marant, doesn’t this vintage 80s acid wash coat look like something she would put out?

I swear I have seen something almost identical by her.

I also love this safari-esque vintage Ralph Lauren coat. It has those old Banana Republic vibes as well.

A long suede coat with a ruffle trim. It has a minimalist simplicity, but the addition of the ruffle is the perfect touch and so unique.

How stunning is this vintage Max Mara SportMax wool/cashmere blend coat?

It is beautiful and such a timeless piece.

To expand on my Junya Watanabe Comme Des Garçons love, this is a great tote bag. I believe it is constructed from denim with a sheen.

What do you think of the pillbox hat trend?

I think it is one that is for very particular tastes, but also one that you do not need to buy new for. There are tons of pillbox hats out there, and I love the animal print and leather combo of this one.

Did I share this alligator shoulder brooch before? I keep coming back to it because I love it and can’t remember if I shared it or was gatekeeping because I want it lol.

Anyway, it is awesome.

This little vintage bag is so modern yet classic with the shape, top handle, and little turn locks. It’s a lovely little bag.

How about some black leather boots with a twist?

The ruffle on these is so interesting. They would just add so much fun to an outfit without even trying.

I adore coloured leather, and this red vintage jacket has the perfect shape. It is almost like a bomber jacket, but a bit more sleek-looking if that makes sense.

I think this green suede jacket is my favourite piece. I mean, just look at it.

The colour, shape, waist cinch, stand-up collar, and even the fitted cuffs. I want to swoop in and buy this, but I think it might be too big.

We are seeing Fair Isle sweaters everywhere right now, and the colours of this vintage handmade version remind me of a few that I have seen in stores lately. It’s a lovely piece.

I was immediately drawn to this vintage Helmut Lang graphic tee. The colour and style remind me of an old Adidas t-shirt that I had and wore until it disintegrated back in the early 2000s.

And lastly, what a fantastically fun little bucket bag.

While I would totally use this in the winter, how great is this for spring and summer?

Is it too early to talk about spring? I actually don’t think it is wrong to buy for any season at any point of the year.

When you find something that you love, the season doesn’t matter.

And that is it for this week.

Look at me getting this out a bit earlier tonight. I must have been more motivated than I thought. Good thing I didn’t take that break to “rest my eyes” after dinner.

I hope you are being kind to yourself during this time. It can be hard and stressful. And remember, secondhand gifts make great gifts too.

The key is to know your recipient and how they feel about it.

I actually prefer secondhand gifts. There is something special about someone spending the time to source out a unique treasure that they believe is relevant to your likes and interests.

It about the intent behind the gift.

I might or might not squeeze one more of these in before Christmas. We will see how the rest of the week goes.
