This week was a super busy one, and I kept forgetting to get outfit photos before leaving, so this was basically the week of change-room selfies.
But yay, my Junya Watanabe tweed jacket arrived, and you can see it in outfit two.
I am so in love with it. It is like one of those wardrobe pieces that aren’t based on trends and that you know you will have and wear forever.
As I stated recently, that is currently my long-term goal. To get the bulk of my wardrobe to be these interesting vintage pieces that won’t get dated by trends,
Items that are hard to pinpoint what year, or even decade, they are from because they are a masterclass in visual interest, quality, and construction that isn’t tied to a particular time.
I did my weekly rounds at Zara today and didn’t see much that I wanted. There were some cords that I tried on, but they were not a good look for me.
There was also way too much sparkly, glittery, and stretchy fabrics for my liking today, which I am sure is greatly exaggerated for fun seasonal dressing.
But that isn’t for me, and it was nice to walk out of there without the feeling of fomo.
I intended to spend Sunday relaxing a bit, but I woke up to a couple of Poshmark sales and wanted to get them shipped out asap.
Unfortunately for me, my personality does not allow me to not ship things immediately if possible.
It is an annoying quality of mine (to me), to be honest. It drives me nuts.
I’d like to be like those more organized sellers who ship twice a week, because I waste a lot of time walking back and forth and end up losing a lot of important usable daylight because of it.
I remember way back in the early 00s when I sold on eBay, I would ship weekly.
Sometimes twice if I was motivated, but everything was calmer and at a slower pace back then, so it didn’t really bother me and wasn’t expected.
I think since we entered the instant gratification era, we have unrealistic expectations when it comes to this.
And because I live in a huge city with the main postal depot located nearby, I can get stuff shipped quickly, so I am lucky in that respect.
But even I am guilty of these unrealistic expectations when I get annoyed when something hasn’t shipped within 24 hours, or when something on Amazon doesn’t offer next-day shipping.
Being part of the problem sucks, so I am trying not to get flustered when something takes a few days to ship out.
Apparently, I am maturing in my old age. Anyway, I found some amazing vintage pieces this weekend that I will share when they arrive.
I have learned not to get ahead of myself and share something immediately when I find it because I have had a few orders cancelled on me after sharing in excitement, which is disappointing.
But I am hoping they do in fact, ship out because they are two really incredible finds.
Fingers crossed.
