It was so windy last night that I kept waking up because I thought the balcony screen door was going to fly off, which would suck. Unfortunately, it isn’t on its track properly due to a slightly bent frame, so a strong wind taking it out is plausible.
Since we are in a high-rise, surrounded by high-rises, sometimes the buildings cause wind vortexes, which make it seem like it is way windier than it is, which might have been the case.
It has stopped now, though, and the screen door is still there, so until next time, I guess.
Now that the weather is turning colder, I have a fashion tip. You probably have heard it already, but just in case you haven’t…
Most of us have more fall/lighter jackets than actual winter jackets. I know I do, and I often prefer to wear my fall jackets because they are less utilitarian and more personal style focused.
In these instances, I will often layer up underneath if it is a lot colder out, but another warmer and less bulky option is to get a lightweight, compact puffer jacket like the PuffTech from Uniqlo.
It is warm, thin and light enough that it will layer under most jackets. It is currently on sale on the US site.
I like this option because it takes my winter coat wardrobe from 1-2 warm jackets to almost every coat that I own.
Because honestly, I hate wearing my warm puffer, and when I wear it, I am usually dying from the heat once I get in a building, and puffers are not easy to carry.
The pufftech is easy to remove and pack because it is so lightweight and comes with a storage pouch that you can just throw in your bag.
Anyway, that is my tip for giving yourself more coat options if you live in a cold location.
I was thinking about stopping by to pick one up tomorrow if they have it in stock, because my new plaid coat is lined, but won’t be sufficient when the temps drop to about minus 5-10.
This makes sense for my wardrobe because I want to make the most of what I have. I do not pack away unseasonable pieces.
I think that I like the olive green, but we will see what is in my size.

I actually have three of those, collected in the last ten years, and I also wear them under a blazer (that is the main reason for the colour variations). They are really practical.

Wow what a great idea (the Uniqlo layer). I am getting straight into that next Winter! Thank you! Also, do you wear sleeve garters to hold up your Mac sleeves (1st photo)? Any suggestions on which ones that are not metallic (they pinch my skin lol).
