Tomorrow is my husband’s birthday, so I had to bake a cake before finishing this post tonight. As per every year, he always wants this cake, except we substitute the white chocolate for semi-sweet since we aren’t big fans of white.
So I couldn’t tell you what it tasted like when the recipe is followed 100%, but I can tell you that with the semi-sweet, it is pretty damn good.
Obviously, since he asks for it every year, he agrees.
My youngest also wants to learn to bake, so tonight I let her do it while I just explained and guided.
Maybe if she decides she loves baking, then I can pawn it off on to her since I loathe cooking of any kind.
Anyway, the cake is cooling and on to the post.
I saw this vintage Bally leather jacket last week, and I kept coming back to i,t so I figured I should share it. I really love the cut of it. It is right between 80s and 90s styles.
Cashmere is something that I always suggest finding secondhand. Something older, preferably, before they started to cheap out on the manufacturing.
This is where you will find soft, substantial, and quality cashmere.
This black polo style is by Ralph Lauren, and it is a men’s XL, so check out the measurements (or ask for some if they aren’t provided). I love the fit of a men’s L or XL in a sweater.
The price is also great with room to negotiate.

A vintage Dior camisole in silk is the perfect way to be on trend without having to buy new. And it is probably better quality than what you will find in most stores.
I love the shape of this Ralph Lauren cotton jacket/blazer. The way the waist cinches gives it a little peplum bottom. It is a fantastic piece.

Of everything tonight, the shape of this first blazer by Armani is my favourite. They say it is from the 80s, and it is just delightful.
I love the stand-up collar and the way it doesn’t button all the way down so that it can be open across the hips. I really want to try it on.
The green corduroy blazer gives me University professor vibes, and that is a good thing. Besides the colour and the fabric, those elbow patches really clinch it for me.

My other favourite piece is this stunning trench. This piece is ridiculous in how amazing it is. I always try to find something that makes me pause and go back when I am scrolling, and this coat is it.
I just might have to add it to my cart because I don’t know if I will find another like it.
The constant search for vintage silk slip dresses is never-ending, so today I came across this Y2K beauty.
It would transfer through every season perfectly, and the colour is stunning.

The weakness for a great vintage graphic t-shirt is uncontrollable. I just can’t help being drawn in to a fun graphic print like this one.
Bonus points because it is white, so it can easily be worn as a layering tee as well.
Grey leather and suede are other things that I always look for. I am just crazy about grey leather for some reason. And these Tory Burch loafers are perfect.

One key piece that I think every wardrobe needs is that white shirt/button up that isn’t basic. Something with a different cut or standout style that takes your outfit from a regular outfit to a standout.
A not-so-basic, basic piece will be a wardrobe workhorse. And it is such an easy-to-wear piece.
The temptation I have to add this one to my cart is high because I have been on the hunt for a white shirt in an interesting cut like this.
Back to vintage cashmere, this green polo is fabulous. And not only that, but I have bought around 4-5 cashmere and silk blend vintage sweaters from this seller over the last few years and they are the softest, best quality cashmere that I own.
I highly recommend her.

The perfect little Y2K animal print bag. It works as a shoulder bag, arm crook, or handbag, whatever your preferred way of carrying it.
When winter comes, my accessories of choice, besides obviously scarves and hats, are brooches. They are such a fun and interesting way to dress up your winter coat.
Not only that, but you can often find a great vintage brooch in thrift stores for a few dollars.

I am a massive fan of the Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag.
I have one in white, but I have never seen one in this speckled pattern before and I love it so much. The Bao Bao bag is what I carry when I want that point of interest.
It just draws the eye, and this one is so good.
And lastly, I have a pair of calf hair loafers by Tod’s. A great little statement shoe and perfect for this time of year. I think another piece every wardrobe needs is a pair of shoes in an animal print.
The way it can instantly change an outfit is almost like magic. Definitely a staple piece.

And that was supposed to be it, but I have one bonus piece that I think is just perfect. It is a vintage blazer by Dior that has a shimmer to it.
I think it would go really well with the Bao Bao bag and graphic t-shirt. When I pick pieces I always like to see how they match with the other ones.
It is like an ingrained habit, now to make sure something goes with other things before I deem it worthy.
Now that is it.
