After the Gap sweater debacle of last week, I know you were on the edge of your seat waiting to see what my decision was.

I actually went back in for a second try-on, on Tuesday, and I opted for the boyfriend sweater in grey.

The almond was my first choice, but it sold out really fast. I actually had to get a tall in this one, like my brown sweater, because it was the only medium left.

Which is fine, the arms are long, but I like the length, and I have longish arms anyway.

I tried the medium regular in the store, but the online store offers different/better sales, so I had to get the tall if I wanted it for that price.

Then I saw they had a merino wool in navy, which is a colour of sweater that I have been seeking.

I included it in last night’s capsule, which was comprised of mostly secondhand items with a few new pieces sprinkled in.

Anyway, the merino was good. I appreciate Gap bringing back its 100% natural fabrics. It feels very 90s Gap, which I talked about last week.

When I find a 90s Gap piece secondhand, it is always in great condition, which is why I hope that they are pivoting back into that direction.

Making fewer pieces, but with better materials, would be something I would vote for. I’d like to see them bring back the leather and get rid of the fake plastic faux stuff they have in abundance as well.

Speaking of leather, I was perusing the secondhand section in my local Simons and found a pair of 90s DKNY real leather straight leg pants that I immediately tried on (and bought).

A smidge big in the waist, and no belt loops, but they don’t fall down, so they are a win.

Tomorrow, I think I am going to go through and sell some of my faux leather pants. I don’t need 4 mediocre pairs that I rarely wear, just 1-2 good ones is where I need to be.

And as November is ending, I only have one more gift to get. I tried to get it from a local comic book shop, but they have to order it in and can’t guarantee it will arrive by Christmas, which is a bummer.

I do try to buy from small businesses when I can. Unfortunately, this was added to the Christmas list late, so I didn’t have time to get my order in early.

But on a positive note, that is my only Amazon Christmas gift I am buying this year.

  1. That Mango coat at number 12 is stunningly gorgeous. I am sorely tempted to get it, but already have a coat in a similar style. Mine is mustard yellow and I get compliments on it all the time. Once a lady chased me out of a store to ask about it. At first I thought I had accidentally stolen something, hahaha.

The Dead Internet Theory is fascinating. The Shrimp Jesus AI pics in the wiki link are going to haunt my nightmares though. If the whole Dead Internet thing started as basically influencing consumers then it would be hilarious if it was to blame for the whole Sad Beige/Clean Girl nonsense.

    • I tried the coat on last week and couldn’t, not share. I had to keep telling myself I have enough coats. I do love mustard yellow though so I’m sure you’re good with what you have as well.

I fell down the hole of dead Internet theory and I agree, it is fascinating. Shrimp Jesus was both hilarious and horrifying 😂 my youngest talks about the sad beige crap all time because it really enrages her for some reason. Her rants are funny.
