I am going to knock on wood, but I *think* that I got through this cold without getting the harsher symptoms that the girls went through.

This feels like I am on the other side of it, while both of them are still dealing with stuffed noses and some light coughing. I probably just jinxed myself, though.

September is always a weird time in trying to get back into proper habits and schedules, and being sick threw me off a bit, but I have been making the effort to get some yoga in.

Sitting around a lot is causing body aches, and I promised myself for my 46th year that I would start to prioritize my health when possible, but I need to start small and slow.

I have also been attempting to find Canadian businesses and make more Canadian purchases… because you know why.

And I got some new “workout gear”.

I put that in quotes because my workouts, like I said above, revolve around yoga and walking right now, so I can’t vouch for how well they make it through a hardcore workout.

But the reviews are quite good, so I imagine they would survive something more intensive than a 45-minute yoga class.

A couple of weeks ago, I got these pants and this top to help motivate me, and I like them a lot, even more so since they are a Canadian brand.

I haven’t got new workout gear in a million years, so I was due. I also need new pyjamas/loungewear, but that is for another day.

I almost made it through the past week without making a purchase besides a restock of the Multi-Peptide Serum that I ran out of, but I got sucked into fall at Zara.

I ended up with the knit skinny scarf that I included in the capsule wardrobe this past week.

And yesterday, when I was supposed to be running an errand, I made a Zara detour to try on some plaid trousers that caught my eye online.

Because what is fall without some plaid trousers? Plus, they are ankle grazing, which means full length on me without having to get them altered. Bonus.

I wasn’t sure what size I would need to get the fit I liked, and the app said that the full range of sizes was available at my store, so I dropped in.

They were fabulous. And in order to get the slightly relaxed fit, I ended up going up a size. My regular size had more of a mid-rise fit that was snug across the abdomen.

The fit reminded me of the dress pants that we wore in the 2000s, which was not what I was going for. One size up relaxed the whole vibe to how I liked.

Anyway, that is my long-winded way of saying that if you like them, then you might want to go up one size to make them more relaxed and less business-like.

And that is it for now. I might have spoken too soon because my sinuses are starting to fill. Boo.

Let’s see how I am feeling in the morning.
