I know that most people take a civics course at some point in their high school careers. It is mandatory so that you get a general understanding of how the government works, and you can go into adulthood with at least a concept of how your country is run.
But holy shit do we need to do a retake.
The number of people that I see freaking out right now because they obviously have zero understanding of how the Canadian government runs is almost horrifying.
Honestly, I think it would be beneficial for all if you had to retake a civics class before you were allowed to vote to refresh your brain on the process.
Tonight we got a new leader of the Liberal Party because Trudeau resigned, and I am so happy that we got this one right. I was concerned based on how the Ontario elections played out.
We need an economics person to help deal with this tariff bullshit.
I also just realized tonight that someone I used to work with who was actually the nicest and coolest guy is now one of those ridiculously stupid Convoy Canadians or Maple Maga.
That was not on my bingo card and I am so disappointed and embarrassed for him.
Sigh, I guess this is what happens when the world completely goes to shit. It really brings out people’s true colours.
Anyway, I will take any small victories at this point and I will sleep a bit better tonight.
The sun is supposed to be out all week, and the temperatures a bit warmer, so hopefully this is a better and less eventful/stressful week than last.
