Well, this week was off to a bad start. When I got up yesterday my laptop would not turn on. It’s like it just decided to toast itself overnight.
I got this in 2020 and apparently, this model with the touch bar was prone to issues. My touch bar crapped out just after my warranty wore off.
It also got overheated all the time, the fan was constantly running, and it never seemed to fully go into sleep mode.
It would often stay warm even when it was supposed to be sleeping.
So I assume it has some hardware issues that may or may not be able to be fixed.
Taking it to see if it can be repaired wasn’t really an option since it is my only computer and something that I need to work so sending it off for a few weeks wasn’t realistic.
Especially since repairs often cost close to new products.
So I had to get a new one.
Thankfully there is an Apple store right down the street and I was able to order one online and pick it up within 45 minutes.
I had to finance it since a $2500 expense isn’t feasible literally two days after paying rent.
But oh well, you do what you have to do, right?
Luckily, my last time machine backup was from the evening before the computer crapped out, so when I got the new one all set up I was able to get it exactly like the last one.
I have been running the new one the same way and the fan has not gone on once.
Anyway, it threw me for a loop yesterday and I have been falling behind because of it. So bear with me, please.
There were some pretty good finds this week, and I know that the tariffs also affect secondhand items so there are a mixture of countries that these items are from to give some options.
Rumour has it the tariffs might be rescinded tomorrow once again. This whole thing is a complete mind fuckery.
I put together a secondhand capsule wardrobe last week as well to showcase how easy it is to wear secondhand.
So let’s get started with a pretty fabulous cowl neck leather jacket by Yohji Yamamoto. It reminds me of my tan version that I have but a little more badass.
This leather wrap shirt is one piece that I absolutely would have grabbed for myself if it wasn’t too small for me.
It is listed as being from the 1980s which makes sense. You don’t see these very often.

Both of these next brooches are vintage.
The blue enamel butterfly is listed as from the 1930s and it is stunning. I kind of want to grab this one.
The sewing machine is from the mid-century and is so much fun. It would be great if you love sewing or knew someone who does.

We all know I love a good pony hair piece and Ferragamo bags.
Today I have both.
We have a classic style tote and a shoulder bag with fun zip pockets.
Sign me up for either one.

I have been in love with this sweater since I first saw and I keep going back to it so figured I should share it.
This is how you get a not-so-basic, basic piece in your wardrobe. You could have basic black turtleneck sweater or you could have this.
Vivienne Westwood is one of my weaknesses so I always like to share little gems I come across.
This men’s grey blazer would be such a great piece to add to your collection. Picture it with that blue butterfly brooch.

This is another Ferragamo bag because this is my favourite shape from them and I always like to share when I come across one.
It’s so interesting and fun while also staying a true classic style of theirs.
A reminder that it is almost vintage bed jacket season again.
This blue one is a bit different from the styles that I usually look for but I love the colour, the sheer yet lux-looking fabric, and the applique flower on the stand-up collar.
It looks ultra-feminine so I would probably pair this with some masculine baggy denim, maybe with some distressing.

Capes are huge this season so look in the secondhand world for them because there are tons of them at varying price points in different fabrics, colours, and lengths.
This one is suede with leather accents and a small buckle detail and works really well with the strong boho vibe that is coming out.
The second coat is something that I would love to have for myself.
It is like a mixed media piece from Issey Miyake that looks like a button up layered under a black coat, but it is all one piece.
So fantastically fun.

So these vintage Helmut Lang boots are fabulous.
They have that combat boot look with a touch of western and would be perfect for spring to rough up a feminine skirt or dress.
Do you like oxfords as much as I do?
Not only an oxford but one with a bit of a block heel. I feel that the touch blue really takes these shoes to the next level.

Everyone needs to have a quick and easy nice top in their wardrobe that they can wear for any dressy situation and I love the look of this silver asymmetrical one.
It would carry you through most dressy situations depending on what you paired it with.
Let’s finish it off with this pretty epic animal print blazer from Moschino. It is like the ultimate piece to add some visual interest to a basic outfit.
If only I had unlimited income.

So that is it friends, I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
