I spent a chunk of my day refreshing Amazon because the Monster High Beetlejuice Collector set was supposed to go up for sale today at a particular time and I wanted to grab one.

The whole release ended up being a shitshow and every time it would go up it was almost impossible for most to get through the payment process without the cart refreshing and being told there was no stock.

They really need to do something about the bots that swoop in and buy multiples to sell on eBay for hundreds of dollars.

I think it could be resolved by doing preorders instead of drops because whatever system they have going on doesn’t work.

It was actually released a day early if you were a member of the “fang club” on the Mattel site which I became just so I could have access, and I still didn’t get one.

It’s nice to know the membership doesn’t ensure they have one for you. Anyway, I’ve got some anger from the experience today. Hopefully, they make up for the disaster that it was.

In case you missed it, I posted an eclectic preppy capsule wardrobe yesterday, and Secondhand Finds volume XI earlier this week.

  1. Ugh, I’m so sorry about the Monster High clusterfuck. They look really cool! My eight year old has Wednesday already, and I have Enid hidden away for some future gift giving day. I want the RuPaul one for myself, but I’ve seen that one at stupidly expensive prices.

Thank you for the Pop Up Video link! I watched that so much in high school, that’s gonna be a fun trip down memory lane.

    • Clusterfuck is a much better description. I think they even realized how bad it was an opened an extended preorder on Amazon for 24 hours earlier this week. I managed to get one which I hope will process in March. I love the Wednesday ones, but the RuPaul was glorious. I hope you can get one for a non ridiculous price one day. I hear the next up is Corpse Bride and maybe Coraline. Having kids is expensive 😂

And yes, Pop up video was like a tv staple. So much nostalgia.
