I took a break from doom-scrolling today to finish up this post. Sometimes I seek out specific brands, but most of the time I just come across things in non-related searches.
Today I was thinking a lot about outerwear and pieces which would be good for spring, and since I love to search secondhand for things that can work as current trends, I tried to include a few of them as well.
I want to first start with this Vintage 80s Perry Ellis sweater. I needn’t explain why I love the sweater because it speaks for itself, so I will share a story about Perry Ellis in case you ar unfamiliar.
Perry Ellis had the famous Grunge Collection from Spring 1993 that we are all familiar with. This collection was designed by Marc Jacobs and he actually fired from Perry Ellis because of it.
The fashion heads at the time hated the collection which is why he got fired, almost ruining his career. It was actually so iconic because this is exactly what was happening in the fashion scene.
He says it was his favourite collection because it was the first time he went with instincts instead of instructions. This is what he was seeing, and this was a turn in fashion.
That story always gets me because that collection was so on the nose, and so memorable.
Now for the trousers, they remind me of a pair that I already have but in a cropped version which would be perfect for spring and summer.
They embody both a sporty and preppy vibe and I would get them if they were on the Poshmark Canada site.

A double dose of Moschino in what are similar but totally different jackets.
Both are studded but the first one is very much like a lady jacket but with an edge. The second is a cropped leather jacket with an awesome lining that I wish fit me.
This is an example of what I mean about searching for something new but then finding a better version that you will have forever in a vintage or secondhand option.
There are still so many new versions of lady jackets out there, that I don’t really pay attention to them honestly. But this is version I am totally on board with.
Seriously though, they are awesome.
More jackets in a bit longer silhouettes.
When I saw this Vivienne Westwood I gasped. What a great piece. You could literally throw this over anything and it would instantly make your outfit so much cooler.
It is an open-front style, so it is meant to be worn more as a part of an outfit than a utilitarian jacket.
The vintage leather blazer is one of my favourite colours of leather. I seek out this rich golden brown whenever I can. It is a good variation to all the chocolate brown we have seen lately.

If you have not sought out Emmanuel Ungaro pieces yet you should give it a search.
This leather vest is such an incredible statement piece, but the best part is that it is not all leather.
When you look at the back it is a striped satiny fabric that resembles the back of a traditional vest.
Can we say classic?
A black wool and cashmere blend Burberry coat, I don’t think you would find much more classic than that.
The whole coat screams quality when you look at the pictures. The lining appears to have a silk or satin finish which kind of ties the whole thing together with a bow. It’s a beautiful piece.
Alexander Mcqueen is always a brand that I search for, so I have another double here.
First are some statement sunglasses with a modern shape that would work well with any wardrobe.
The other is a black tote with the infamous Alexander McQueen skull perforated on the front. It is subtle yet a statement.

Shoes are an area that I was thinking about current and future trends.
Snake print is growing in popularity and these oxfords are a fun way to showcase it.
But on the other end we have something more classic yet trending for spring with a kitten heel mule. I like the thicker heel versus the skinny kitten heel, so I guess it is more like a kitten heel height than a traditional kitten heel shape.
The square toe and loafer-esque vibe is what really makes them. I would love to see them paired with those cropped trousers from the top of the post.

I was searching tubogas necklaces when I came across this one, which isn’t a tubogas but is just as aweseome. It is hard to get the idea of how large this piece is unless you go look at the images.
This is truly a statement piece.
I can’t go a week without at least one brooch and I am a sucker for animal jewellery, so here is a fab vintage zebra. The original one that I included sold really fast but I found another identical one that is even cheaper.

And lastly today are my favourites.
They are both from Yohji Yamamoto. This dress is so minimal, and perfect for spring and summer. I’m not going to lie, I really want this dress.
The neckline alone is just perfection. Damn. My January shopping budget is done though.
Then we have more oxfords but with a sleek, modern look. Yohji Yamamoto pieces always look so modern no matter how old they are. The shape, angles, and detailing are so perfect and precise.

And that is all for this week friends.
I am currently freezing my butt off, but I am thinking about spring. My vintage gloves did finally arrive in the mail today. They have been idle since the mail strike and I was starting to think they may be lost.
Perfect timing for this weather though.
