I was on a mission to find myself some very specific things this week, which ended up not being successful. But along the way these were some of the pieces that I came across and liked and they went onto my weekly secondhand finds list.
It is not even a good way to gauge what I was looking for because most of these items come from different search categories, but sometimes people miscategorize their items and you find a happy little mistake.
That is one of the things that can make shopping online secondhand really difficult.
Because often people miscategorize or make a mistake when listing the item and if you were looking for it specifically you might never find it because it isn’t listed where it should be.
So while I very much utilize all kinds of searching parameters when shopping online, I also sometimes free roam just in case I come across something I otherwise wouldn’t have.
I like to give you a mix each week, of clothes, shoes, accessories, and bags but this week I wasn’t really searching for bags, so there aren’t any. I didn’t even notice actually.
But first I want to jump in with some vintage leather trench coats. I am in the market myself and these, while they are not specifically what I am looking for did catch my eye.

Miu Miu Light Pink Trench | Dark Green Vintage Trench
Light pink/powder pink is an upcoming spring trend and I saw this cute little vintage Miu Miu. See, you don’t need to buy new to participate in a trend.
But the one that really caught my eye was the deep green. You know I am a sucker for green, and while it is usually the olive green that I gravitate to this deep tone is really lush.
It would look so great paired with camel.
I am always searching for secondhand Ralph Lauren because it stands the test of time and the quality is great.

Vintage Givenchy Knit Dress | Ralph Lauren Corduroy Jacket
When I was out the other day I saw quite a few guys in their 20s wearing Ralph Lauren sweaters, which I haven’t noticed in this abundance lately.
I can’t be certain if this is a new thing or if I have just not paid attention.
Anyway, I saw this light brown cord jacket with a million buttons which would be a pain to do up, but that is okay because it is awesome. It has a bit of a military-esque feel about it, but also a tad retro.
The vintage Givenchy knit dress is all kinds of amazing. I love the structured and angular look it has even though it is a knit material. The colour is super on trend as well.
I feel like for spring we are going to see a lot more boho, even more than recently. But if boho isn’t 100% your thing you can still participate with something smaller like a pair of oversized sunglasses.

Chloe Oversized Sunglasses | KJL Necklace Set
These sunglasses have that whole, 70s boho vibe going which is the best kind. Pair them with a minimalist outfit for a statement, or go all in with flares and clogs.
The necklace set is again from Kenneth Jay Lane whom I love. I actually have this necklace and this is the best price that I have seen it in a long time.
They are usually priced much higher, especially for both the earrings and the necklace since you often see them sold separately.
Next up I have ultra-modern paired with a vintage 1930s statement piece.

Jil Sander Wool Sweater | 1930s Velvet Cape
The top is a Jil Sander wool turtleneck sweater with a split center. It is an xs so the sizing is tiny but it is such a striking minimalist piece without being basic.
My favourite piece of this collection is this 1930 velvet and silk short wrap-around cape. This is one of those pieces that I would encourage you not to save for a special occasion.
Just throw it on with a plain t-shirt and jeans to make your look spectacular with minimal effort on your behalf.
Picture a white or grey tee, some vintage blue jeans, the pointy flats I included down below, and this cape with a top handle bag.
Sneakers and oxfords, are two styles of shoes that I cannot get enough of.

Green Pumas | Dries Van Noten Oxford
The green Pumas are such an good colour, paired with the snake-like print is just an overall cool shoe. As for the oxfords, I am really drawn to this classic androgynous style but I love the chocolate brown.
It has a different vibe than a traditional black oxfords and I would love to see it paired with grey and blue.
As per usual, I always keep my eyes open for a good graphic tee, or vintage trousers.

Vintage Levis’ T-shirt | Vintage Ralph Lauren Silk Trousers
And the graphic tee is always better if it is vintage like this Levi’s red tab shirt. The yellow is such a good colour to wear in to the spring and summer.
The trousers on the other hand are Ralph Lauren and in a check silk. I have a similar pair that are cotton, not silk but they have a similar cut, colour, and ankle cuff.
These would be nice and drapey and would make a great spring and summer trouser.
It would also look cute paired with the t-shirt.
Whenever I search for shoes I tend to subconsciously seek out pointy toes, straps, and kitten heels. These Prada Mary Janes have that sporty feel like the early 2000s sports ballet flats.

Prada Mary Janes | Jil Sander Pointy Toe Flat
The pointy toe ankle strap pair by Jil Sander are like the only flats you would need for spring because they are so versatile.
You can dress these beauties up or down for any occasion. I love a shoe that can work multiple jobs.
And finally I have some brooches again. This is one the most underrated accessories that is so easy because you can pin them on to anything.

1940s Jaguar Brooch | Vintage Woman Torso Brooch
I am not even sure which one is my favourite because they are both so different. The cream coloured jaguar is from the 40s. Something about it screams 1940s and I would have guessed that era if I didn’t know.
The second one is like a sculpture. The brooch is intentionally deconstructed which I feel brings something extra. I would be happy to add either of these to my collection.
That is it for this week. Tuesdays seem to be the day this new series is coming out. It might switch up based on other things going on but for now Tuesday it is.
I was also thinking of occasionally making these based on a theme? I’m not 100% what kind of theme, but a theme nevertheless.
