Weekly Secondhand Finds II

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

We are on to week two with this new series now which I was hoping to get out last night but I my Instacart order yesterday had like half of my order refunded due to it not being in stock. I often wonder how many times it is just because the shopper doesn’t know where to look.

I’m pretty sure I would be really good at that.

I really know my way around a grocery store and could get in and out quickly. I have had a few shoppers who were like that and it was awesome.

When I was picking these vintage and secondhand finds this week I was thinking about how they would make a great outfit, so make sure to scroll to the bottom where I made a couple of outfits from the items.

First up I have a couple of blazers. I believe that every wardrobe should have something metallic in it.

It can make a big statement in an otherwise basic outfit. My goal right now is to get a gold handbag, but I would also settle for gold shoes, or a gold blazer like this one.

The other is a vintage Moschino leather blazer. It is quite fitted and small, so it is probably best if you are an xs or small.

I always drool over Ferragamo bags. They are such an underrated brand with beautiful designs. I am always partial to a top handle, bowler style but every wardrobe needs a chic shoulder bag.

And don’t sleep on vintage Coach. It has been around for a long time for a reason, and this green is so good.

A brand that I always try to seek out when I am shopping secondhand both online and in store is Ralph Lauren (vintage and modern), so I have a couple of Ralph Lauren finds.

I always search for sweaters, usually men’s but this brown one is a women’s that I was drawn to because of the awesome leather shoulder details.

Military-esque style jackets are a must for me, and this one that I would add to my wardrobe. Lots of pockets, a cinch waist, and some shoulder epaulettes are key details.

If you don’t already have a pair of animal print shoes in your wardrobe I highly suggest getting a pair. They can add so much to an outfit with minimal effort, and there are so many options.

Something bold like the red snake print, or try a neutral with a sleek pointy toe. I also like a zebra print, or cow. Pretty much any, and all animal print is good in my books.

Although snake seems to be gaining in popularity at the moment.

If I was only allowed to pick one shape of glasses or sunglasses forever it would be a cat eye. It is so retro, yet can be so modern depending on the style of the glasses.

With both of these I was attracted to their little deviation from a basic cat eye. I am in dire need of new prescription glasses and some cat eye Prada are the ones that I am going to try and seek out.

I would love to wear my contacts less and a cute pair of glasses is what is holding me back, mine are in need of an upgrade desperately.

Kenneth Jay Lane animal jewellery is one of my favourites, and I actually have these door-knocker earrings. They came in a set with a necklace, although you more often see them being sold separately.

You guys also seemed to love the vintage alligator shoulder brooch from last, week so this week I searched and found the same one I have. The gold tone leopard with green eyes.

If I had some extra money right now, I would have grabbed these two pieces. The bag is very trendy with its shape and brown suede, but it is vintage. The brand is Bally which is another one that I recommend that you keep an eye out for. They make great footwear too.

All very classic and timeless looking.

These jeans are from Marni and damn, that striped cuff is so good. You all know I love to cuff my jeans.

My last two finds of the week are footwear.

I find myself constantly perusing shoes. The blue ones are Hermes, and they are such a steal. I did a double-take when I saw the price.

My decades long love for Miu Miu never wanes and these vintage boots are so good. The heel is the perfect height for me, and I love the two-tone. Once again they are too small, otherwise, I would try to make an offer on them.

I know not everyone would appreciate a secondhand gift, but I would. If someone knew me well enough to source a brand I loved in my size I would be thrilled.

Literally thrilled, so keep that in mind if you have someone close to you that you know would love something secondhand as a gift.

Presents aren’t about being the newest thing, it is about the thought and taking time to know what a person will like.

That’s it for the week. And as promised, here are a couple of outfits that I made from the pieces so you can see how they would work. So much fun.
