My oldest turns 20 this weekend which is so surreal that I can barely wrap my brain around it. She loves Vivienne Westwood so I bought her a secondhand bag from Japan on eBay. She’s going to be thrilled.
Luckily she favoured the canvas crossbody models so it was significantly cheaper.
We haven’t put the tree up yet, which is late for us, but with some teamwork to shift some things in the living room, we might get it up this weekend.
I didn’t get anything new again this week. I haven’t really felt like it, and I have been trying to get use from what I have.
My goal is to hold out until I notice a wardrobe hole, and focus on secondhand first.
But I do really like this sweater because I have a weakness for cardigans with fun buttons. I also like the animal print leggings. They are merino wool and would look great layered under skirts and dresses.
I also ate an entire 411 gram bag of Lifesavers mints over the last two days and now my mouth is quite sore.
They are really good.
In case you missed it I put together a capsule wardrobe last night that focuses entirely on secondhand and vintage items.

Don’t call it a Substack. I have seen a lot of creators transfer over to Substack recently and this is why I won’t do that. Sure it is clean looking, easier because you don’t have to worry about keeping it running or backend stuff.
You also have the potential of earning a lot of income through subscriptions, it is easier to grow, you don’t need to obsess about whether you are going to be dropped from search engines, and the list goes on.
But you don’t own it. It can disappear at the drop of a hat and you’ll be left with nothing. It is hard sometimes to sit back and watch these new Substacks get popular and grow so quickly but I just can’t bring myself to put my work into the hands of someone else. Rant over.

Happy Birthday to your oldest. I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating and getting into the holiday mood. My youngest turns 19 this Friday. It all seems surreal indeed.
I have been buying handbags for some reason, second hand and artisan made etc. I did list a pair of boots on the Real Real and still holding out to score a pair of IM boots. You encouraged me to look for a pair on TRR and now I am bookmarking boots left and right but not ready to purchase quite yet.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week.
Shon
Thanks! Good luck with the Marant search, they often have some really good prices so it’s worth holding out until you find some on TRR.
