I could spend hours and hours going through sites looking for vintage clothes and not find anything, then all of sudden something shows up for me that had nothing to do with my search parameters and it’s like it is meant to be.
I don’t even know what I was looking for exactly earlier this week but I do know that it wasn’t a blue tiger print vintage blazer from the 90s.
But somehow it came up and I was like, holy shit I need that in my life so I pitched a somewhat lowball offer to the seller on eBay.
Not insultingly lowball, but enough to negotiate and I was expecting them to come back with a higher offer which I would have paid because that is how bad I wanted it.
They accepted and I am so stoked to get this in my wardrobe even though it isn’t heavy blazer season. I try to buy things based on how I feel, not where it falls in the trend cycle.
That way I won’t have to deal with it becoming “dated” since the goal is to build a forever wardrobe versus a trendy one.
It is 90s Moschino so it has that overt campiness that only Moschino has, but in a more subdued way because of the non-traditional blue animal print versus a bolder orange or brown.
So that is my purchase this week.
It is coming from the Netherlands so it might take a bit longer. Sometimes it surprises me though. I just hope it gets through customs without having to pay taxes and duties.
Secondhand items shouldn’t have to pay taxes since they have been paid multiple times already, it’s ridiculous. Anyway, I found another one in a size 12 if anyone is interested.
I believe that it originally came as a skirt or pant set, but you mostly just see the pieces being sold separately now. I guess after 30ish years that tends to happen.
