I have a wedding to attend tomorrow. I am not big on weddings and was really hoping that I was out of that stage of my life, but it is one of my husband’s closest friends so I have to make an appearance much to my disappointment.

The dress code is cocktail, and buying something to wear to a one-time event is something that I really wanted to avoid, unless of course, it was for something black tie which I feel would be a nightmare for me both to attend and to find a dress that was me and within my budget.

Anyway, I planned on wearing a vintage black blazer over a long black silk dress that I had, and as luck goes, the dress didn’t fit when I did a try-on yesterday.

We also had like two weeks notice for this wedding so it wasn’t exactly procrastination on my part.

You have to love a spur of the moment marriage.

This resulted in me having to go panic shopping today on the Friday of the long weekend which I was hoping to avoid.

I ended up just getting a long slip skirt from Zara because it was the best of the worst things that I tried on today, and I will pair it with the vintage blazer, these shoes which have a really walkable heel, and my jumbo Alexander McQueen clutch.

At least with buying this slip skirt, it won’t be something I only wear once because I was actually in the market for one.

And unlike some, I do not keep tags on and return them after wearing them out. That is so gross to me.

I have been on the receiving end of opening an online purchase to immediately know that it was a wear it out and return it item.

Not cool.
