I made the mistake this morning of placing an Instacart order when I was still half asleep because I needed a few heavy things, plus a large bag of cat food since we ran out last night.

That way it would save me from having to go out so I could focus on some work, plus I couldn’t carry home that many heavy items at once. I need a grocery cart.

What did I end up forgetting to add to the shopping list?

Cat food.

The one item that I really needed. So my plan to spend the afternoon working changed when I had to go out anyway. And while I love doing errands by foot for the exercise, they take significantly longer than by car.

So now I am scrambling to get my stuff done so the week starts positively. Well, as positive as it can.

Change of direction now, I got my vintage Ralph Lauren polo shirt in the mail and finally got to wear it this week (last outfit).

It’s amazing how well these pieces hold up in comparison to much of the fast fashion shit that looks terrible after only a few wears.

Seek out those natural fabrics because they can really last when properly taken care of. The camel polo sweater I am wearing in the first outfit is vintage cashmere and it looks brand new.

Also, I want to share with you an 80s and 90s designer that has such fun pieces and is a great way to add some interest to your wardrobe.

Her name is Sonia Rykiel and if you search for her on Etsy or Poshmark you will find a huge selection of items. I just bought this 90s skirt from a local seller, and it is perfect for my summer wardrobe.

The mostly secondhand summer wardrobe is starting to take shape. I also bought this 80s short-sleeved sweatshirt after years of searching for a vintage short-sleeved sweatshirt that I loved.

Plus it is that butter yellow colour which is a huge trend.

You don’t need new for it to be trendy.

  1. Love all these outfits, Sara! I really like this kick flare trend. How do you like the Everlane version? Torn between those and the Banana Republic.

    • I haven’t tried the Banana Republic but I really like the Everlane pair. They have the pin tuck seam down the front legs like the high sport $$$ version which I feel makes them feel a bit dressier. Plus, they are at an actual good length on my shorter stature. I was a little concerned they’d be too long which would defeat the intended look of the pant.

      • Thank you! The materials seem better on the Everlane. What size sweatshirt in that same outfit? I’ve had one of theirs in my basket forever.
