As I talked about on Friday, my clothing rack finally gave up after years of having me live on the edge. Actually, when I removed everything off of it I was able to mostly straighten and tighten it again and my youngest is going to use it.
She has a rack, but my old one has extra shelves that will come in handy in her room since it is so small and has zero storage.
It will hold her stuff with no problem because she wears only about 15 items on rotation. I just kept too much stuff on it, and it wasn’t meant for that kind of weight.
Anyway, I spent the day yesterday in my room building and organizing my new rack. I really enjoy putting Ikea furniture together and this one was really easy compared to some items they carry.
It is really sturdy and holds everything I need it to, and now I can dedicate my previous bookshelf that I kept a lot of folded items on, to my secondhand and vintage stock items that I am slowly collecting for my online store.
I use my wardrobe all year, and don’t pack away winter items so one-half of my wardrobe is basically just outerwear. It holds my blazers, jean jackets, leather jackets, coats, and any other pieces that would be considered outerwear.
It also holds all of my shoes and bags in a tidy manner.
I’m still slowly pulling things out and reorganizing them in the room, but it is nice to finally see all of my clothes right there in front of me.
I was running off of limited pieces before because I had a lot of stuff buried under folded piles, and crammed in the wardrobe that I couldn’t see or forgot about.
This was actually quite informative and I suggest pulling everything out at least once a year and reorganizing/rehanging them in your closet, so you can really see what you have.
And revisit what you forgot about.
The next thing I need is a jewellery and accessory organizer that I can slide in there too.
Reacquainting myself with my wardrobe has been a fun process.
