We went to a vintage clothing show this weekend and it was so much fun. Right in my element. It was like a gathering of every vintage clothing business in the area, crammed into one large auditorium-style building.

It was the stuff of dreams, and I have made it a life goal to have a booth there one day.

There were so many people, and it was bringing out my competitive shopping nature which doesn’t bode well when you don’t have infinite money to back it up.

Anyway, it felt like every time I turned around someone was trying on or buying something that I wanted, so I would end up discreetly following them around to see if they bought it.

They did. They probably felt my eagerness.

Some stuff was really well priced, some stuff was really, really high but that is how vintage works.

I ended up buying a vintage 80s/90s Brahmin handbag that is cognac leather and tweed, and so gorgeous.

It caught my eye right away, and I had to have it.

The other thing I bought was a 1950s faux pearl bib necklace, which was coincidentally bought at the same vendor as the handbag, but at a much later time of day.

One kid bought some costume jewellery, the other bought some clothes, and art prints, and the husband bought a hat.

Overall an exciting and fun day, albeit tiring.

I just wish we had more money to spend.
