Well, I finally did it. It only took me almost 43 years to finish a college program, but I did. If I only knew then what I know now, I might have gotten my shit together earlier.

That being said, I probably wouldn’t have taken this course, and I would be working in a museum somewhere. Which wouldn’t be bad, it would actually be good, but my life would look a lot different and that isn’t something that I want to change.

We’ve had Toot for 3 weeks now, and he is so funny. So fast too. With some pretty substantial upper body strength for a little guy with such short legs.

It’s a long weekend, and I am hoping to get some stuff cleared out and listed on Poshmark. I’ve got so many bins of things to be listed and I need to buckle down and get it done to get it cleared out of here.

I’m also working on a new guide to put up in my Digital Style Guides section. I hope to have that done by tomorrow night, but I’m not holding my breath.

Aside from that not much is happening. There is a Barbie Experience that the girls are interested in because it looks fun, so we might get some tickets for that soon.

Who doesn’t want to hang out in a life-size Malibu Barbie house or camper van?

Then Spirit Halloween will be opening soon and I am certain that my youngest will get me to buy her a Scoops Ahoy Stranger Things outfit just because she wants one which will be funny.

I can’t believe it’s Halloween time again.

  1. Congratulations on finishing your college program!!! What a wonderful accomplishment. Also, just wanted to say how much I enjoy your posts. You have created something truly unique. Each post is a visual work of art with all the different colors, textures, and shapes. Your capsule wardrobes are both creative and practical and I love turning to them for help with my purchases. And Toot is so precious!!!

    • Thanks so much Dana. Your comment is the type that keeps me motivated, and you don’t know how much I truly appreciate it.

  2. well done sara, congratulations! i know you had been talking about the program for a while, it’s been fun to follow along on your journey. to me, you’ve always been so confident in your stylist guides and advice, so it’s got to be extra satisfying to have it come full circle.
i am so over the heat and humidity, bring on all things halloween! i’ve also tried to start looking around for possible Christmas presents to go ahead and get that done and dusted, but so far nothing is really standing out.
i hope you can kick back and relax with toots (if he’ll let you) after all the work you’ve done updating your website and finishing school!

    • Thanks Lisa! I’ve been working in fashion of some kind or other since 1998, so it was nice to have the confirmation that I knew what I was talking about when the course seemed like review at times. I’m happy to be able to say that actually finished something though.

A lot of people get so mad seeing the Halloween decor out already but I love it so much. I’d be thrilled to have a Halloween or Christmas store around here that was open all year. I’m kind of lost in the Christmas department too for the first time in years. I need to buckle down and get some good ideas rolling.

This year has been way hotter and drier than normal which is scary, so I can only imagine how it feels there. Not even one thunderstorm when it used to be a regular occurrence. I don’t understand people that love this weather, it’s suffocating.

  3. same here, just keep the halloween vibes going 24/7. although, i will admit that i hold out until the day after halloween to score a better deal on the count chocula/frankenberry cereal lol.
