Just the way that I love to spend my Sunday evenings on a long weekend, cleaning bathrooms. It’s probably my most hated chore of housekeeping. I loathe it.

I managed to mostly get Merle’s room looking decent this weekend though (it’s been pretty unorganized since we moved in). And Roo, don’t get me started with her bedroom…

I was recently introduced to an Instagram page called teenagerprotips that hits the nail on the head pretty good on what it is like living with a teenager. Like I have warned you all a million times if you don’t yet have children and are planning to, then less is more when it comes to buying kids toys and crap.

That stuff just multiples forever and ever until it slowly takes over and you have no idea how you got to that point or what to do with it.

I really wish we took the minimalistic route when it came to toys.

On a frustrating note, I bought something last week that was shown as delivered on Friday but the guys at the front desk said nothing showed up. I’m really hoping that it was because it was marked as delivered before it actually was (they’ve done that before) and that it will showed up on Tuesday.

It’s a long weekend so there is no mail tomorrow.

If not, it is kind of stressing me out because it was expensive-ish and I don’t know how Canada Post deals with packages marked as delivered when the customer hasn’t actually received it. Super annoying.

I made the mistake of going to the mall today.

I’m not sure what I was even thinking. You would think after all the years that I worked in retail I would have remembered that Labour Day weekend is one of the busiest retail weekends of the year due to Back to School.

There were so many empty shelves and out of stock items that it felt like the pandemic paranoia that hit the stores in March 2020.

That was not a good use of my long weekend time.

Stay safe.

  1. Hi Sarah!
I am new to the blog but already addicted to it… on my last trip a few of weeks ago, one of your post (or better say many) inspired me to pack smart and, most importantly, light.
I also enjoy a lot your capsules wardrobe! I hope you don’t mind but would like to suggest a “ transitional capsule wardrobe”.
Right now in Germany, where I live, there are still few warm days and as is so hard to say goodbye to the summer pieces, perhaps you could bring some suggestions on how to mix some of the summer pieces going into Fall.

    All the best!
    Cheers

    • Thank you so much! I’m thinking about some fall outfit ideas that transition summer a variety of pieces. Thank you!
