Weekly Reads and Finds

It is almost time for a new computer. I am accepting the fact that this one’s days are numbered. I have had my desktop since April 2011, so it is around 10 years old now.

I am no longer able to update it because the last time I tried, it made a horrible noise and I panicked that it wasn’t going to turn back on.

It stalled and I ended up having to restore it from Time Machine backup and never tried again.

Every time I have to reboot it I hold my breath as the bar moves slowly across the screen so I figure it is time.

The question is whether I get another desktop, or do I get a Macbook Pro and attach it to a larger monitor?

I am used to working on a 27″ screen so it will take some adjustment.

I have a Macbook Air that I also use, but the bulk of my work is done via desktop for the large screen and the huge amount of storage this machine has.

The girls also use the laptop for many of their online classes so I can’t just move to that one.

I am leaning towards the Macbook Pro route, and that seems to be the consensus from when I asked on Instagram today.

Whatever the choice, I need to be proactive instead of reactive

Stay safe.
