SHOP THE POST

Another weekend closer to Christmas and the panic has started to set in. Getting sick this past week and a half has thrown me because I don’t feel like doing anything.

My head is in a fog and I literally get tired and winded/start coughing with any exertion. Which means I haven’t been able to do any type of workout except walking wither. It makes it hard to tell if I feel unmotivated and feel like crap due to being sick or because I haven’t done any physical activity for a while.

My meal planning has also been beyond basic, and I have been spending money on takeout that would be better spent on groceries.

This week come hell or high water we really have to buckle down and get things done. It’s Merle’s birthday on Saturday and I haven’t even figured out what to get her yet. We are taking her to The Dr. Seuss Experience which should be fun…hopefully because it was bloody expensive.

Do the J.Crew Everyday Cashmere pieces ever go on sale? I figured if they did, then this time of year they would at least be included in one of the sales they have. That damn sweater I have been stalking that has literally been on my wishlist for two years has been exempt from every sale.

I gave up and ordered the v-neck cashmere in camel from Uniqlo because they are substantially cheaper than the ones at J.Crew and are marked down an extra $20 until tonight (at least on the Canadian site). It’s not going to have that same oversized look that the JCrew style has, but it will fill that wardrobe hole.

We all know how this works though. Now that I gave up and bought another J.crew will have a Cashmere sale within the next week. It never fails.

Tomorrow is Green Monday which is supposed to be the best sales day over the holidays. I wonder if this is because people are really starting to panic now?
Anyway, here are a few of the sales that I have seen listed for tomorrow.

Target – 30% off Home Items.

  1. I sure hope you are on your way to being recovered by Christmas, Sara. If you are able to complete your shopping before then, great. I also hope that J Crew cashmere sweater gives it up when you are again ready for it. As far as grocery shopping and cooking go, yeah it sucks not being able to do those things. But, it’s great that there is an alternative in a pinch.

Meanwhile, I have had this Wild Fable sweater ) on my list for a bit as well. It went on super sale and I hit that buy button faster than an Avenger can jump on the nearest airborne alien.

And may I say this sweater it is absolutely fabulous. The blend of soft colors is so surprisingly pretty, different. The texture is fluffy, uber soft, and very cozy. It also fits like a dream. The Wild Fable brand has turned out to be a fairly perfect match for me. The fact that is also very affordable is a blissful combination.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and a sudden burst of holiday energy, Ardith

    • Thanks Ardith, this cold just keeps hanging on.

That sweater is awesome! I was just perusing the Wilde Fable stuff and you are right, it is great stuff. I miss Target soooo much. I get bummed out every time we pass the place that it used to inhabit in the mall. I can’t believe the price of that stuff though! What a bargain!

I don’t know if I’ll get any holiday energy but it would be nice for the cough to go away 😉

I hope you are doing well, and are prepared (as much as one can be) for the holidays.

      Best,
      Sara

  2. Love your blog! Fellow INTJ but with dogs….you called it, 20% off everyday cashmere in the US, hope the same for Canada!

I am waiting (not so patiently) for the Free People boots to arrive. Have you tried the Levi’s ribcage full length wide legs? Just snagged a pair on sale.

    • I don’t know if I have ever encountered another INTJ! That they know of at least. We are like the unicorn of personalities.

There are no cashmere deals are on the Canadian site yet, but it never fails for them to mark it down once you’ve given up 😂

I did try in the full length Ribcage a little while back at Aritzia. They looked horrid on me 😆 I don’t know if it was the wash, or the length (way too long) combined with the high waist but it made the crotch look super weird and I took them off immediately. I do better with a 28″ max inseam, it makes everything sit smoothly with not extra bunching. I do find it hard to resist a pair of Levi’s that are on sale though. I ahh my ways have my eyes open.

I hope your boots arrive soon! And I hope you enjoy the shit out of them. I use a gel insole in them and it made everything much more comfortable.

      Best,
      Sara
