SHOP THE POST

I am typing this in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving dinner. We opted for pork tenderloin instead of turkey because a) I hate cooking turkeys, and b) there is always so much leftover I feel that it is wasteful. For some reason people don’t love leftovers here which is super annoying.

My friend Terra who I met on Instagram has the BEST fashion sense. She posted some knee-high snake print boots today in her stories which inspired me to search for some knee-high cognac boots.

I didn’t find the exact style I was looking for but I came across these that I instantly fell in love with. They are Italian leather boots that were on a flash sale for $35. I actually haven’t shopped in Le Chateau since the early 2000s because they really changed their aesthetic over the years. But I couldn’t pass these up. I hope they fit.

I impulse purchased a sweater from H&M the other day. It’s actually a really nice sweater but when I got it back home I realized that I have a beautiful cashmere sweater, as well as a wrap sweater both in the same colour grey.

I’m going to return it because it is not necessary to have several of a similar style and colour. I’m usually really good about not impulse buying, but for some reason, it caught my eye. Instead of thinking about if I have anything comparable, I just grabbed it and paid because I was in a rush.

Merle discovered eBay recently and has been sending me links to Alvin and the Chipmunk vintage toys that she wants to add to her collections. Apparently she is going to have a vintage toy Christmas.

I’m feeling pretty confident with my Christmas gift list this year. While I started a little later than I usually do (I’m still kicking myself over that), I have a definite outline of what I need to get.

I think I have enough time to spread it out so that it isn’t too much expense at once.

Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

  1. I haven’t done too much Christmas shopping yet. I am pretty pleased with what I have got though. Some Royal Mail Avengers stamp sets for two of my cousins that will look really cool in a frame, and some DC Superhero Girls toys that went on clearance when the cartoon rebooted. Not a Christmas present, but my daughter’s 3rd birthday is this week and she’s getting a Supergirl “Barbie” and an Olaf tea set. She’s never seen Frozen, she just really likes snowmen and has started playing “coffee party” lately. I think I’m gonna do most of when we’re back home, I want to hit up all of my old favorite shopping spots, but don\t necessarily need/want much for myself!

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

    • That should be exciting for you to get to shop in all the shops you have been missing!
I’m really loving the Barbie inspiring women series dolls. Merle who has never liked Barbies wants the Katherine Johnson doll because she loves engineering.
Coffee party is really cute 😂 my girls were huge frozen fans. We’ll be hitting up Frozen 2 when it comes out.

Thanksgiving was good! I hope your trip back home is amazing.
