SHOP THE POST

I planned on spending the day getting caught up on things that I need to finish/start, but I got sidetracked by Ikea.

That place is dangerous for that. I did get a neat new little setup to keep my desk area organized. One of these wall organizer peg boards with all the little accessories.

I also bought this print (the one with the paint slashes) because I kind of really love it although I don’t have any place to put it. We have been talking about moving to a different place though, someplace a little larger with more wall space so I am stockpiling artwork.

I got an email yesterday about the New Seuss Experience that is opening up here in October. It is actually doing it’s premier here before moving around the United States which is weird but I’m not complaining.

We have wondered for the last year what was happening in the old movie theatre of that mall because there has been ongoing construction. Now we know.

Since I receive email letters from the shopping mall that it is going in to, they gave us access to pre-sale tickets. I bought them for December. Merle’s birthday actually, because I figured it would be a fun thing to do that day.

I was also hoping that they would have the Grinch room installed since the rumour is that it will be for any city it is at Christmas time.

I took a break from typing to make a poutine run down the street. There is an awesome unfinished retail spot located right next to the poutinerie. For a minute I imagined opening a vintage clothing store there. Unfortunately I’d have to be a millionaire to do that. One can dream right?

  1. Not sure if you’ve ever seen the movie This Is the End starring Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel, but there’s a scene featuring the Backstreet Boys, and this was apparently included because Quebec was a test market for the group and they had several hit singles in Canada before releasing anything in the US. Maybe the Seuss Experience is similar?

Also, I am visiting the US for American Thanksgiving in November and have a layover in Toronto for a couple of hours. You’ve just inspired me to see if there is a poutinerie in the airport. Spoiler alert: there is. 😀

    • I totally remember the Backstreet Boys having hits in Quebec before I even knew who the hell they were. I forgot about that. I never thought about a test market but that makes sense.

There are a lot of good places to eat in Toronto Pearson so you may want to make sure your brought your appetite 😉 It’s not easy to make a decision.

I hope you have a great visit home!
