SHOP THE POST

First and foremost I centred this entire list around the jacket. I love it. I want it. It’s amazing. I let it be front and center and be the statement piece that it is born to be 😉

I know that it is probably a little “too much” for many but I couldn’t resist. The person that I made this for loves bold pieces, and I think that the jacket checked that box with a big sharpie.

They have saved for 3 years to have this dream trip to Milan at Christmas and New Years, and they wanted wardrobe help.

I put together some pieces for this travel capsule wadrobe that fit their style description, and would work for touring around Milan, but also for fancier dinners and New Years celebrations. I chose a long velvet wrap dress in black (also comes in blue) because velvet is such a decadent fabric, but is also perfect for colder weather.

Throwing in a couple of pairs of jeans are a must if you want a casual vibe, and black pants to pull an outfit together in a quick pinch.

A few sweaters for warmth, and a gorgeous cardigan from Zara. Both the burgundy satchel bag and the striped crossbody fit the theme well and are from Target. They are fab (with a fab price as well). I love finding great items in unexpected places for a great price.

For shoes I went with velvet again with the Converse which is a fun twist, and a pair of Oxford (or are they brogues because of the toe detailing?), and some boots.

Add some travel accessories like scarves for warmth, a hat, and some sunnies. Gloves might also be a good idea and leather ones would look awesome with the jacket.

How do you feel about a bold statement jacket?
