Every once in a while you come across something interesting/awesome/delicious/funny/smart online that you feel the need to share online (like women scientists taking to Twitter to post “sexy” pictures of themselves at work to fight sexism with the hashtag #DistractinglySexy). In most cases I either pin it to Pinterest or share it via a public Facebook post. Those things get lost on pages after time so I thought I would post some things here that caught my attention so I can keep track of it. Kind of like an online bookmark. Here is a list of links and things that I came across this week. Continue Reading

Late Nights, Donuts, and Outfit of the Day 5
Today’s outfit of the day was a dress. Just a casual style with sandals, a hat, and a tucked braid. I am only 5’3″ and this dress falls to a weird spot on me making me look shorter than I am (which I obviously don’t need). I am thinking of bringing it to get altered to hit right at or right below the knee taking 2-3 inches off. I also need to invest in a pair of Spanx because this style isn’t very forgiving and accentuates every bump good and bad. Continue Reading
Outfit of the Day 4 Casual Comfort
Casual grocery shopping wear is my outfit of the day. It is one of my go-to looks, simple layers, my favourite black boots, coral lips, and a side braid half-tucked under a straw fedora.
One of my favourite things is when you spend time to meal plan for the week, you write out a list of everything you need, then go through the flyers and see where the best place to shop based on your list/plan is only to have the plan fall apart on you. It’s a lot of work try to meal plan, keeping within a strict budget and still providing your family with some semblance of variety. Continue Reading
Forgetfulness and Outfit of the Day 3
Grey Tank Top | Kimono Top (similar) | Jeans | Sandals (similar) | Watch
This is outfit of the day 3. I describe this outfit as my “hurry and run to the store before I get pissed on by rain” outfit. My hair is in my go-to braid and I am wearing sandals when in fact I should once again be wearing my rain boots. An emergency hair elastic on my wrist and a watch complete the outfit 😉 My kimono top is black instead of white because it is from several years ago so a similar one is linked below. Continue Reading
Udemy Courses are Awesome
This one is going to be quick. It popped in my head while I was in the shower this morning listening to Spotify 80’s Smash Hits Playlist. Nothing starts the morning off like a little Bette Davis Eyes with Dancing on the Ceiling thrown in. It’s nice to be able to shower with the door closed now since Roo is older and I can depend on her to notify me if her sister is doing bad shit. Continue Reading
Fun Stuff from The Week Like Loot Crate
It feels like Friday but it is only Thursday night. The week is dragging. The weather has been around the mid teens which is my ideal temperature. Perfect for jeans and a light sweater to go out in without worrying that you are going to die from heat prostration. Merle doesn’t do well with heat or humidity. Her face turns pink within minutes and she sweats profusely and starts to complain, so if the temps could stay at this level all summer I would be grateful. I hate when the heat and humidity is so high that they warn you not to go out unless you really have to, so we are enjoying the calm before the storm. Which in this case refers to the bloody high humidity in the summer. I have the balcony doors open, the central air is off and I can feel a cooler temperature drop in preparation to the rain that is coming tonight and tomorrow. I love rain. I love thunderstorms more but it seems we haven’t had a good one in a long while. I think we are due.
The week isn’t quite over yet but we had some fun stuff that arrived in the mail already.
