I almost saw a squirrel get hit by a car this afternoon when I was waiting to walk across the street. I thought that I was going to simultaneously scream and vomit.
He regretted his decision and ran back in time, though. These little adolescents do such risky shit. I asked him where his mother was and to please stay on the side with the trees.
Two exciting wardrobe moments of the week: First, one day was cold enough to bring out my Arthur Apparel multi plaid coat. They have it again this year, in three colours this time.
And the second was the burgundy velvet smoking jacket I found on Etsy came in, and I am so thrilled by it.
This purchase was a long time coming. I have been searching for one for over a year, and I saw this one when I was searching for my weekly preloved items post.
It is in amazing condition and fits just the way I hoped. It is like one of those missing wardrobe pieces that you didn’t know was missing until you get it. It integrates so well with what I already have.
You can see it in the third outfit.
Something that my youngest daughter wants for Christmas (or her birthday since they are literally 11 days apart) is an old-school CD stand.
Once upon a time, they were all over thrift stores, and now not so much with the rise of owning physical copies of music. So I am going to have to try to figure this one out.
I cracked open the window last night and lay in bed to read with my electric blanket for the first time this season. The cats thoroughly enjoyed cooking themselves.
This new Zara velvet and jacquard coat is beautiful and reminds me of a 1920s opera coat. And this one too. I swear, I have never seen so many amazing pieces come out from them at once.
Maybe it is just my obsession with velvet, jacquard, and fall in general. It’s just like the perfect mix to suck me right in.
So that is enough rambling. I cut my finger earlier, and typing is making it sting, but I bought some ice cream today, and now I am going to read and eat, and maybe put on a band-aid if I can find one.
Anyone else have a household that goes through band-aids quickly and yet has no one ever has any apparent injuries?
One of those weird life mysteries, like when your utensils disappear.
