Happy New Year. I’ve texted out Happy New Year many times over the last 24 hours and my autocorrect keeps changing it from Happy New Year to Happy New Tear, and I am trying my damnedest not to see this as a sign for 2022.
The last thing I need is more tears.
No resolutions for me because I won’t follow through with them. I know myself better than that now even though it is a nice thought to even think I would.
I decided to rewatch The Queen’s Gambit again because I like to rewatch favourites usually every year. It’s like rereading books. I do that so often.
On a positive note, I read about 175 books last year. Going to bed where everything is dark and quiet, and reading, is something that I look forward to every day.
Last night was a 5am reading night, which is so many levels of wrong, and I am paying for it today. I feel hungover minus the alcohol.
I just bought these winter boots during a Boxing Day sale at Soft Moc, and I am very pleased with them.
I wanted something that was a slip-on style, sleek/minimalist looking, and that goes underneath pants easily versus tucking pants in.
These check every box.
A heartfelt goodbye to Betty White. It was like one last kick in the face for the year. It won’t be the same without her.

Long time reader, first time commenter! I love your write ups and the weekly finds. 175 books is amazing! Well done. Are you on goodreads?
I am but I’m not. I do have an account but haven’t updated it for probably around 8 years. I always forget about it to be honest. I probably should get back on it because it would be nice to keep track properly. My current mode of keeping tracking just a bunch of pencil scratches 😬
