I thought that I only had a three day outfit week this week, but then I remembered that I had one that I never posted on Instagram. It was late in the day, and I was kind of like meh, so I just saved it to my phone.

How many of you had grandiose plans to accomplish things for last week, even though it was supposed to be the one week of the year when you are supposed to sit back and do nothing?

I had all kinds of good intentions like I always do, but once again all our sleep schedules are effed up and Tom being off work just throws our routine right out the window, so I sat on my ass a lot.

I will give him props for the fact that he brought down two big pieces of furniture to donate today, which is nice to have out of the house…BUT it was to accommodate a gigantic chair that he brought home.

He has a really hard time trying to visually determine whether something will fit into our space.

He sees something, gets excited, and all thoughts on whether it will work in our home fly right out the window.

So he messaged me that he found a chair. He took a picture of it, but honestly, I can’t tell by a photo how big something is.

I figured that he learned his lesson from the couch debacle several years ago, so I didn’t think to ask.

He brought it to the house (with an immense amount of difficulty) and this thing is massive. It’s like a bloody throne.

When I sit in it, my feet do not touch the floor.

It will make a good reading chair, I guess.

And the cat really likes it.

Two pieces of furniture leave and one gigantic one comes in to take its place, so basically, they just cancel each other out and nothing has changed.

There is no extra room in here like I had hoped there would be with the other two pieces gone.

On a positive note, there was a fantastic thrift find. A men’s pair of Christian Louboutin spiked slip-ons for $13.

They are a bit beat up, but with some cleaning and care, they have a lot of life left in them.

They retail for about $500 US secondhand. I love a good find.

Stay safe.

  1. I was supposed to clear out the kiddo’s toys, but we got hit with a mysterious bug that may or may not be omicron. Negative lateral flow tests, and not as bad as covid, but worse than a regular cold. I’m mostly annoyed that we made it nearly two years without catching it, then quite possibly got hit with it twice in two months. Seriously, WTF?

Anyway, I did manage to go through old clothes and get rid of a lot. Between normal kid growth spurts and me losing weight due to a bout of actual Covid and another bout of faux-vid I had loads of things that are just way too big now, and not in a cool slouchy way either. There’s about two garbage bags of stuff to donate, a third garbage bag of stuff I’m going to try to sell, and a smaller bag of stuff to give the infant nephew.

Also while digging through I found a reusable shopping tote I got as a freebie at a small local shop the last time I was back home. It has all four Golden Girls and says “Thank you for being a friend and shopping with us”. Not gonna lie, I think I made an ambarassing loud whimpering noise when I saw it.

    • Omg. How are you feeling now? What a blow after just getting better from round one. Jeez. This shit is hardcore.
It feels good to get rid of stuff. I just bring stuff to the front hall and stack it there so the husband can drive it down to the drop off when the car is home on weekends.
Hold on the that bag forever 😭
Take care of yourself. I hope if you didn’t have it that you don’t actually catch it again. Every time I sneeze or feel a little run down I panic.
