A storm rolled through here the other day, and holy shit was it intense. We had something like 5 emergency alerts go off in the span of an hour, which never happens here. So when people say they don’t believe in climate change, it infuriates me because that was not normal for us.
We didn’t even get it as bad as some of the surrounding areas, and yet it was still scary. For some reason, storms seem to either go lighter when they get here or go around us completely, almost like there is a protective barrier.
It’s weird.
It was also hotter again this week, which was so disappointing.
The worst part was when the weather started to turn, and the warnings were arriving on our phones; the guy was on our balcony fixing the partition that was broken.
I could hear his phone going off too, and I told him not to worry because it was too dangerous and to just come back tomorrow since they were going to be here anyway, but he stayed and finished before it got too bad.
Men are so dumb when it comes to shit like that.
I can’t believe it is Labour Day weekend already. Now we are on the countdown to Christmas, and I usually would have bought most of my gifts by now, but we have been so broke I have only bought one.
Which is actually at the post office waiting for me to pick up because I owe duties on it, and I had to wait for some money to come in. Sigh.
But it is a one-of-a-kind, independently made piece that my oldest has been waiting for them to finish and sell, so it was a now-or-never thing because they sell out fast when she stocks them.
It is a Fallout-style bag, and Fallout is one of her favourite video games. So I guess one present down.
In case you missed it, I went more minimal in yesterday’s fall wardrobe because sometimes you just want to be a little more low key but that doesn’t mean less interesting.
I can’t stop thinking about the green boots from it. Also, I have the brown sweater, which is one of my favourites, and it’s waiting patiently to come out for fall.
I have several colours of the Ralph Lauren cotton V-neck, but I want one in navy too. I also have a very similar pair of snake print boots, but I love the heel on these.
The flat boots are a style I have in black and cream, and now I really want a pair of cords. I actually haven’t worn cords since the 90s, and I lived in them then. I feel like I could live in them now too if I could get them relaxed enough for my current preference.
Anyway, I guess cords will be on my fall wishlist. Probably second-hand if I can find them.
Fingers crossed.
