Weekly Secondhand Finds (Vol. LXXXVIII)

I found some good stuff this week in the secondhand market though.

It is where I go to scroll when I have the urge to shop, but can’t. Fall is perpetually on my mind, so most of the things I chose this week are fall wardrobe oriented.

To start with, this graphic baseball tee from the 80s made me smile. I love Mastiffs, so it is applicable to me.

Then we have some vintage Dior silk-wool blend trousers. These are tiny, but I really like the look of them.

I always absently wondered why there are so many vintage pieces from the 90s and early 00s in small sizes.

And then I clued in that it was because they made us starve ourselves, so of course there is going to be a large number of tiny sizes.

I can’t believe they are doing this shit again. I thought we all learned from last time.

I read somewhere that whenever women start getting vocal and fighting back, skinny comes back in with a vengeance because hungry women’s brains don’t work as well.

I am not sure of the accuracy of that statement, but it seems plausible.

Check out the patina on this leather bomber.

It is incredible. People pay big bucks to buy new jackets with similar “ageing”, but this one is natural. It is a good one.

If you were born in 1973, then this vintage ringer tee might be for you. I wish it said 1979.

This vintage Vera Wang silk dress says nightgown in the listing, but there is no way that this isn’t a dress. Even if it technically was a nightgown, it is too beautiful to waste on that.

So, I declare it is a dress. Cream/beige silk with a tie ribbon under the bust.

I love corduroy, so this vintage Diesel corduroy toggle coat caught my eye. I am all about the fall jackets right now.

And look at how deep those patch pockets are.

Yet another good example of a vintage Ralph Lauren cotton pullover.

They truly do stand the test of time, because look how great it still looks.

I also want this little Y2K Gap bag for myself with the bold blue and black pony hair.

If I had to live in one outfit for the rest of my life, it would be in an oversized sweater (like this brown one with elbow patches), with an oversized tee layered under, vintage Levi’s two sizes too big, soft socks, and comfortable shoes.

Every day I could wear that. I love this sweater.

How about these Phoebe Philo Celine burgundy loafers? I am not sure if they fall under the comfortable shoe category, but I would wear the shit out of these.

I would also wear the shit out of these double monk strap Prada shoes. These are bloody spectacular.

It is almost animal print coat season, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Animal-print coats will always be a wardrobe staple for me, never a trend.

These two are some of my favourites of the night.

First are these Dries Van Noten fabulous flat snake boots. Absolute fall perfection.

But then we have the star, which is this waterproof trench coat with a gathered, almost bustle-like back. Holy shit, this one is a dream, friends.

I am pretty certain this would be too small for me, and that makes me want to cry because I have never seen one like it.

You need to go look at all the pictures from every angle to see what I mean because this individual flat lay does not do it justice.

I love my Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag so much, and I would love to have another in silver. What a statement it makes both in structure and colour.

My obsession with vintage pearl necklaces that have multiple strings and beautiful clasps is still strong.
