As per what I regularly do every New Year and birthday, I say, “This is the year I will get in shape”. And then I never do. But my birthday was last week, and this year, my friends will be the year.
I need to.
It already started unintentionally this summer with me getting out and moving a lot more than usual, even with the heat.
Is that mostly because I need to walk down to the post office more often?
Yes, that and a few other things, like being broke, so I am not using Instacart; therefore, I need to walk my ass down to the grocery store more often as well.
But I also need to bring in some other types of movement, although it is a start. That being said, I have been doing all my walking in Adidas track pants because I truly HATE leggings.
I wear them for Yoga, but even then I loathe them. And track pants are too loose and baggy for that, so I am thinking a hybrid. Like maybe something like these. Have you tried them or something similar?
And while I prefer looser tops as well, like this one that I have. I do need a sports bra. I had one that I bought final sale, but ended up with the wrong size and couldn’t return it, so now my oldest has it.
Then I have another one that is so stretched out that I am not even sure why I still have it because it literally supports nothing anymore. I’m pretty sure it is like 15 years old.
I’m leaning towards this one because a friend has it and recommended it, but I also like this one, mainly because the colour is awesome.
Although I think the first is better support for my perpetually sore perimenopause boobs.
I bought a new yoga/exercsie mat last year in preparation and never used it, so I am set in that area.
I’ve just been feeling so much despair and sadness and rage, and I feel like I need to get it together if there comes a point where we need to physically fight back. I have no illusions that the world is going to carry on, heal, and become harmonious on its own.
It is the same reason why I am reading books on poisons and learning to pick locks.
So yeah, I need to channel these intense feelings.
Sorry for being a downer.
In case you missed it, I posted “The Interesting Person Fall Wardrobe: Why Every Outfit Needs One Bad Decision“, last night that kind of came out of nowhere so it’s pretty long.
And lastly, my Puma Wedge sneakers are back in stock in the brown if you missed out the first time.
