I just completed the Canada census that I have been procrastinating on. It’s funny how you keep putting something off because the task seems mentally daunting, only for it to be the easiest thing you did that day.

I wish all tasks I avoided were that easy.

Mother Nature apparently decided that spring does not exist in Southern Ontario this past week, and we have gone back to cold temperatures and frost warnings.

Now that I have said that, it’s probably going to be 30°C next week, and the air conditioning isn’t on yet.

I did notice that the heat doesn’t seem to be blowing hot air anymore, which means they have probably started the switch from heat to AC.

Our building runs on a chiller, so it’s either one or the other, not both running at the same time, which is fine since we have very definite seasons.

But during these in-between times, the weather can go either way at the drop of a hat, and it can be annoying not to be able to switch between hot and cold air.

Now that it is sunnier, though, the window people are finishing the window weather re-stripping this morning, and I just happened to walk into the living room as they came to our window, and it was a moment of awkward eye contact.

I hate that shit.

After a very long hiatus, I managed to put together a summer digital style guide (25 outfits, with 5 different aesthetics).

I haven’t completed one in a very long time due to life kicking me while I am down, and needing to focus my attention on other areas.

But I wanted to get back into it.

Last Friday, when I was supposed to get paid, I didn’t. And after some investigating, it was determined that someone accessed the account I get paid through and changed my payment information to funnel the money to themselves.

Which meant I was not paid during a period that my husband is unemployed, and we are literally living paycheck to paycheck.

Which means that I spent the week with an ongoing investigation to determine how this happened and how it can be prevented in the future.

So while it isn’t totally resolved yet, it is heading in that direction, which can make me breathe a bit better.

And if I’m being honest, this was the motivation to complete the Summer Style Guide, with the hopes of recouping some of the income I lost last week.

Also, in case you missed it, I put out an eclectic summer capsule last night, and in it, I included an amazing pair of blue shoes.

They are cobalt blue and a mesh ballet flat, which is perfect for the season, plus they come in a few really vibrant colours.

A bright shoe is one of my favourite things to pair with an outfit. My eye was first directed to the green, but then I remembered that I have a green leather flat that I bought from Zara about 4 years ago.

So I dug them out, and they will do the job. I do really love that cobalt pair, though. That blue is one that I am very drawn to this season.

While it is not one of the most complementary colours on me, it is one of my favourites to use for shoes, bags, and accessories.

So maybe try a bright shoe for summer if you want a small change with a big impact.
