Welcome back to my favourite post of the week. I know some of you still sit on the fence about shopping predominantly secondhand, or have aversions to buying specific things used (like footwear), but I am hoping to win you over eventually.
I am not sure if it is because it is becoming trendy or whether people are starting to realise that overconsumption isn’t a good thing to market, but there have been a lot more influencer-like people leaning into vintage and secondhand.
I hope it is the realisation, but I feel like many are just following the next trend unfortunately.
But whatever, if it gets people to think of buying secondhand as a viable option, then I don’t really care in the long run.
It was a pretty damn cold week that just passed by, and now that we are entering more normal winter temperatures, it feels almost balmy in comparison.
Which means I am leaning into jackets again. More spring style versus winter, like this heavy-weight leather jacket with fireman clasp closures.
I love this type of closure, and I also love how they are off-centre. This is a nice jacket.
Next is a tunic with a contrasting colour, wrap bow accent. I always like a basic that is outside the box.

This black and white leather jacket reminds me of something that Moira Rose would have worn in her iconic, mostly black and white wardrobe.
This bag is a Y2K bag that looks so much like a Balenciaga Le Cagole, but for 2% of the price. It truly looks a lot like it.

Speaking of Balenciaga, I have a stunning leather blazer.
This colour is what we refer to as ish colour. They often have a muddy or grey undertone and are called “the colour” plus “ish”. So this one would be greenish, brownish, or greyish.
It kind of seems to fall within those three ranges. That is why we use “ish”.
You know my love for Sonia Rykiel, and this tweed jacket is a good example of why. It’s a great piece.

I also love a calf/pony hair shoe like these two pairs.
First is a cow print flat with a great pointy toe, but the other is fantastic.
It has terrible photos, which I will never understand, but seems to be the norm most of the time.
So you need to pay attention and not just scroll past the shitty photos, because often they will have great pieces that are not showcased to their best.
These are over-the-knee, flat pony hair boots, and they are badass.

Another form of shitty photography is when they pump up the saturation and overblow the brightness or exposure.
A good example of that is these reddish-orange animal print Chloe block heel loafers.
The imaging is terrible, but the shoes look great.
Are you looking for a huge bargain? This vintage animal print bag is a steal.

Forever the sucker for a leather bucket bag with fringe, studs, or zipper accents.
Or all of the above.
It would pair nicely with the t-shirt that is vintage DKNY and has a leather-like look to it.

And if we are talking about vintage DKNY, I found the exact pair of leather pants that I purchased for myself a few months ago.
You can see them on me here.
The only issue that I have with them is that they don’t have belt loops, and are a bit big on me, so they hang off my hips pretty low.
I believe these are a vintage size 8.
This military/nautical inspired vintage long jacket is one of my favourites of the night. I am obsessed with this one.

Always hunting down interesting brooches like these scissors. Look how cute it is!
Whenever I find a vintage or antique vesta case (match holder), and it isn’t hundreds of dollars I try to share it.
This one looks a lot like the one that I have, you would just need a chain for it to wear as a necklace.

That’s it for tonight. I can feel a headache starting to brew, so it is just in time.
I keep going back to that scissors brooch, and the DKNY t-shirt. I think I am going to sleep on them and see if they are still there tomorrow.
Take care, friends. It’s a clusterfuck out there.
