Weekly Secondhand Finds (Vol. LIX)

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

I read something recently that was a little disappointing. It was one of the “New Year 2026 Trends” forecasts, and they were talking about how they predicted that secondhand shopping was going to be huge this year.

Which was initially exciting to see.

But they then proceeded to explain that their research showed that people weren’t swaying that way for sustainable reasons, but more for prestige and gatekeeping.

So, it was more about being able to respond “thanks, it’s vintage” in a coy way when someone compliments something that you are wearing.

It left a bad taste in my mouth if I am being honest.

While I know that everyone has different priorities, I feel like second-hand shopping shouldn’t be a trend. It is a lifestyle that is both beneficial to the environment and to personal style.

So yeah, that is my rant on the ick I got after reading the article.

And with that, let’s jump in.

This Moschino flower appliqué tank is perfect for spring and summer. I love unique little pieces like this.

Then we have a 1940s amazing wristlet. There is a blue lining inside that is very beautiful, and it would be a perfect evening bag for an event or even just because.

I saw this first coat last week, but I had already almost finished the post, so I saved it for this week to see if I still loved it.

And yes, I do.

Not just the colour but the crinkled texture and shape. The price is good as well.

I love a basic grey sweatshirt, but I love one that has a twist, even more like this one with the ruching ribbon throughout the sleeves and back.

This faux fur short jacket from Moschino caught my eye not just for how cute it is, but for the sequin shoulder epaulettes that are such a great touch.

It is a great little throw-on and go jacket.

Then I found a gold colour, silk slip skirt from Ralph Lauren. I am thinking about spring and summer again guys.

This would be cute paired with that tank above. And maybe this faux fur jacket.

These two selections are my expensive choices of the week, but I couldn’t ignore them.

This was another coat that I saw last week, and I decided that if it was still there, then I would include it this week. It is a vintage Vivienne Tam, which is always a fabulous find.

And leaning into my current love of purple, these vintage Prada shoes are beyond. If these fit me, I would be searching to see what I could sell to buy them.

A sleek, black sock boot. Need I say more?

A straight-up classic boot that pairs well with everything.

If you are looking to add a bit of colour, then these colour block mules would be a fun choice for spring and summer.

I have beating the brooch drum for a long time now, and finally they are trending.

Which means that they will probably get super pricey, but as it stands, you can usually find them for a reasonable price in a thrift store.

This first one with the chain tassels is so modern, yet it isn’t modern and I love it.

The second looks art deco, but it’s from the 80s. It is a good one.

The shape of this peplum balzer blows my mind.

It is something that looks like it was on a runway at a recent fashion week.

And if you are ever looking for a great vintage brand, then try Etienne Aigner. While usually they are known for their leather goods, their clothing is also really fantastic, like this reversible trench.

Burgundy on one side and camel on the other. Perfection.

And lastly, I have two red accessory pieces.

The vintage gloves have the best wrist ruffle (rings not included).

And this 1970s bag looks like a hybrid between a Celine Boogie bag and Valentino Rockstud, and I very much am into it.

That is it for this week.

My secondhand purchase of the week is a vintage men’s tuxedo jacket with tails, and I can’t wait to see how it integrates into my wardrobe.

I have wanted one for years and this week the style, size, and price aligned for me.

Now I have to go and build a desk shelf for my youngest.

  1. I am so enjoying your blog and rediscovering the fun & syle of second-hand. I’m sharing a find bc it’s not my size and it’s killing me! lol Someone needs the “Arche blue sued lace up ankle boots” on Poshmark. They remind me of something I’d find here.
