I made a run to the post office today, doing some window shopping on the way home, and I almost shed a tear when I saw spring arrivals in stores.

And it wasn’t happy tears.

Here it was, bitterly cold today with a wind chill, and there were linen shirt dresses and terry cloth shorts on a rack.

Those selections were not even very aspirational and were more “beach vacation” versus spring wardrobe, so I couldn’t even get a little excited.

Not that I get excited for the hot weather at all, but sometimes there are some fun things to wear.

I avoided Zara like the plague because I refuse to set foot in there while the sale is going strong.

Usually, about two weeks in, it becomes bearable, with the sale confined to a small area and the rest being new arrivals.

So nothing new this week. I’m totally broke, so probably nothing new for a while. Lol.

In case you missed it, I posted a Modern Vintage Collector wardrobe yesterday.

One Comment

  1. This made me smile because I had the exact same reaction seeing spring pieces show up while it’s still freezing outside. The disconnect between the weather and what’s in stores feels extra noticeable this year. Do you usually wait it out until things feel seasonally appropriate, or do you ever buy early and stash pieces away for later?
