Weekly Secondhand Finds XXXIX

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

This week went unintentionally colourful. Maybe I am subconsciously seeking brighter pieces to liven up my neutrals for fall.

Or maybe just to brighten my day since the world is a shit show right now.

Whatever the reason, there is still a selection of key neutral pieces here. More minimalist, which would pair really well with some of the more vibrant selections.

It might be obvious to you by now, but I am really into suede and leather jackets for this season, which makes sense because that is a common fall choice.

But I am like, REALLY into them.

Meaning, I am spending an inordinate amount of time searching out vintage pieces to satisfy this wardrobe craving.

But I am starting out with two of the more vibrant pieces that I found.

First is a stunning striped button up-esque blouse, although it is listed as a jacket. I think maybe it is a language translation thing since this item, I believe, is located in Tokyo.

Anyway, it appears to be a crossover wrap style top in a vibrant blue and bordeau,x which is actually one of my favourite colour combinations.

Then we have a marigold/mustard coloured camisole which will be perfect for layering. I love wearing them over fitted turtlenecks in the colder seasons.

I have an olive green, and a light blue turtleneck that this would look fab over.

I really like long sweaters, but what I love about this one is the high slit which makes it easy to walk, plus it allows you to showcase whatever pants you are wearing underneath.

This plaid organza jacket is my favourite piece from this post. It is like the epitome of a statement piece.

If it wasn’t the end of the month I would grab it.

The perfect suede jacket, the colour, length, style, and covered buttons…all perfect.

This bold colourblock jacket might scare some people, but it would be really easy to wear, you just have to let it be the standout piece.

So pair it with a white tee and your favourite slouchy vintage jeans for a pretty fantastic, holy shit look.

Two brands that I search for religiously are vintage DKNY and GAP.

The DKNY sweater is one of those pieces that looks hard to place in a fashion timeline. I like to seek out those items that look like they would fit in many different fashion periods.

The old 90s singing/dancing GAP commercials are making a resurgence as GAP seems to be revisiting their most epic advertising period.

It’s almost like they are making a comeback, and I hope they can bring back clothes like they used to make, like this velvet button cropped jacket.

Remember bebe? This little olive green crop bomber is vintage bebe and looks almost identical to a jacket I saw at Zara a couple of days ago, except this is real suede and better quality.

I tried it on and really liked it, but I like this one much more.

Marni is so unique. Their pieces have so much personality, like this cropped leather jacket/shirt. It is so good, and I especially love grey leather.

The perfect minimalist leather bag from Furla.

It is pretty big, almost tote-like, so note the size.

The Brahmin bag is a combination of animal print and colour, making it a great way to add visual interest to a more minimal outfit.

Speaking of animal print, this skirt is not only one of the most popular prints of the season, but it is also knit, making it perfect for fall.

This tassel necklace is vintage Monet and is fantastic. Monet makes really great vintage jewellery and there are so many different styles to choose from.

I love their more pendant style/tassel necklaces, and the thicker tubogas style.

We are finishing it off with two kinds of footwear I am seeking for the upcoming season.

Snake print, and studded.

I love snake print in a variety of different shoe styles. I have boots that I bought last year, but I would love some flats.

I don’t have a studded pair (yet) and I really like how well the studs work with the white leather.

And that is it, my friends.

The weather is a bit cooler again this week, and I am trying to embrace it before the inevitable second summer comes to scorch us again.

I tried to only include items that showed me they still offered shipping to the U.S, but since the lists seem to be growing daily, it might have changed again.

Take care.
