It is that time of year again, when I bought my first Christmas present, and it is still summer time. I am actually late this year because I usually have something squirrelled away by at least June.
Anyway, it was a new Monster High doll to add to the collection. It isn’t available in Canada yet, so I had to order from the US.
It was supposed to be delivered today, but it is stuck in transit and delayed until who knows when.
They reissue old dolls, and I remember when this one came out the first time. They only made one version of her, and then she was no longer made and was extremely hard to find.
We missed the boat that time because we were broke, and didn’t realize that Moinster High dolls were going to disappear for several years, so this reissue is like a second chance.
The extreme heat and humidity are back again, so I am crotchety, tired, and unmotivated. Which sounds on par with the last year or so.
Part of that is probably poor sleep, but I can’t wait until the weather shifts for fall because I was actually craving a snowstorm today.
I *think* tomorrow is going to be a closet purge and list on Poshmark kind of day. That is the intention, at least because I need to pay off these taxes. Yikes.
It will be nice to get a lot of the clutter out, and might help to make me feel less overwhelmed.
Also, I swear that perimenopause has made my feet grow. Is this a thing? Because all of my shoes that fit, but were a tiny bit snug, no longer fit.
Maybe they just got fatter or flatter.
Whatever the reason is, a shoe purge will be happening too.
In case you missed it, I put together an anti-capsule, capsule wardrobe yesterday, which was fun and a new perspective.

That Monster High doll is cute. I actually have almost all of my daughter’s birthday (October) and Christmas presents bought already. Only things left are whatever she specifically requests. Mostly because I got laid off earlier in the year and got a really good severance payment so decided to use some of it on her. Also, some of the clothes are no longer available (BlackPink and Wicked sweatshirts, Keith Haring jacket. She is a child of good taste). I did also get her a Monster High doll, the Enid doll from the Wednesday release. It was half off, it would have been stupid not to!
Also, I have never really been a fan of his music other than a few individual songs, but I am surprised by how sad I am about Ozzy. And his big goodbye concert reminds me so much of Bowie’s Blackstar coming out right before he passed.
I’m really sad about Ozzy too. I watched the funeral procession online and it was heartbreaking. That family really loves each other which is something you don’t often see either celebrities.
As for the Enid doll, I love the whole Wednesday collection. I’m currently doing a rewatch before the new season, which comes out on my birthday.
Yes it is a perimenopause thing. I learned it from @dareablewearables Nicole Reynolds when she went through it. If I remember correctly she explained it has to do with less collagen being made. It’s important for holding structure and with less of it our feet can spread out. I’m sure there’s a more detailed explanation. 🙁
Thanks for this. It makes sense when I think about it, but it’s such a pain 😂 half my shoes no longer fit.
