I made the mistake of watching The Sum of All Fears tonight, which in this current hellscape was a poor decision on my behalf.
Apparently, I have somehow never seen it, and needless to say, it upped my anxiety.
So I am redirecting my brain to secondhand shopping.
There was so much footwear that I found. I could do a whole post on great secondhand shoe options if I wanted and was feeling motivated.
The first pair are men’s Derby shoes. There are slight variations between Derbys and Oxfords, and the main one is the way they have an open lacing system.
If you compared a photo, you would see the difference.
Anyway, these are a men’s size 8 US or UK 7 which is around a women’s 9.5. I love the square toe, and the orange laces. Orange and brown is one of my favourite combinations.
Zebra print is regaining its moment. It will probably be back full force by fall.
It makes sense when you think of the fashion cycle because all the 90s and Y2K stuff we are seeing is from the same era as zebra print.
And these boots are amazing. I would wear the shit out of these.

Do you love laser-cut leather?
I find it so beautiful and lace-like but edgy. This jacket is stunning and because of the open holes, would work as a light jacket for this time of year, but would also look great later with colourful pieces layered underneath.
It is actually on an auction, but no one has bid yet, so you might get it for the starting price.
Bubble skirts are back, but that doesn’t mean you have to buy knew.
This Prada bubble skirt is much better quality than what you would find new in fast fashion and less expensive.

It is hard to tell, but this cardigan is actually a mixed media piece of knit with black lace stripes.
It is a pretty unique and interesting piece which is a quality that I seek out.
I can always tell when something is Anna Sui, like this black blouse. She just has a certain look or vibe that I can recognize.
I think this is a Y2K piece, but it might be a bit earlier.

A grey leather shirt dress with a full front zip? Oh my god yes. It’s glorious and I would wear this with jeans, trousers, track pants, and skirts, but never alone.
I would also leave it open as well like a jacket.
So many options.
This golden yellow colour is one of my favourites, and this dress would be perfect if you have any summer weddings or events to attend.
So simple, yet so beautiful.

There is something about paint splatter on things that always pulls me in.
I love old jeans or sweatshirts with paint on them, but these Margiela oxfords are intentionally like this.
I wish they fit. How fun would they be with an all-neutral, minimalist outfit? Let the shoes do the speaking.
There was something about these blue Jil Sander sports loafers that I immediately loved, besides the colour.
I would also wear the shit out of these.
The problem with wearing a women size 8 shoe is that it is so average that the size is actually hard to come by because so many people wear it. I wish I wore a 6 or 9.
Those tend to be ones that I find most often.
But visualize these loafers with cream cords and a cream cashmere sweater in fall, or a straight up all denim look.
I sometimes think shoes are more fun to me than clothes.

How beautiful is this cream cashmere blazer?
This my friend’s, is a forever piece.
And while we are on beautiful blazers, this silk bronze colour is amazing. First off, this was the colour of my wedding dress.
Secondly, this is an xs and if you look at the photos there is some stress along the seams in the back.
This is probably due to it being non-stretch silk, and it being too small for someone who wore it. But that isn’t a dealbreaker to me, and it is a great deal for 90s DKNY.

When you think of vintage Ralph Lauren you probably don’t think of animal print belts, but if you go back to the latter half of the 90s and you can absolutely see where this would fit in.
It’s very different from the traditional RL Americana that we are all familiar with.
And speaking of that time period, if you haven’t noticed, lace camisoles are back in a big way.
This silk beauty is hand-dyed and right from the original era.

I love animals of all kinds, even snakes. I find them so fascinating, and if I didn’t have to feed them mice and other animals that I love, then I would probably have one.
So I stick to wearing them on clothes and accessories instead.
And to finish the day, I found another antique vesta case which is a match holder case, if you missed my Instagram stories on them from last week.
This one also has the top loop which makes it easy to fit onto any chain. I still have yet to find my long silver chain for mine.
I have no idea where I put it, it should be in my jewellery box.
In the meantime, I have been using this one from Jenny Bird because the length is perfect when used at its full length (it is adjustable).
It slides on easily and works great, even though mine is the gold version. It is a good thing that mixed metals are in.

That’s it.
Oh, wait, I have a bonus piece that I found at the end. It is this beauty of a Y2K-ish jacket in white. It has that technical look that was very prominent during that time.
I have been having so much fun lately finding myself authentic pieces from this time period. There is so much great stuff to be found, and much of it has a timeless vibe like this jacket.
I hope you are all holding it together okay. It’s rough out there.
