Weekly Secondhand Finds XXII

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

I usually start sourcing pieces for this post earlier throughout the week and keep a folder of all the things that catch my eye. I then go through it to see what might be worth sharing and catch someone else’s eye.

This week was super procrastination week because I was really stressed over the election, and I had too much anxiety to even shop for fun.

That being said, I was able to do a late-night roundup with some great wardrobe pieces.

For starters are these Y2K brown, wrestling-style sneakers. They are a great colour, and such a fun style to wear. I have a blue Adidas pair.

My favourite shaped toe for ballet flats is the squared off toe that looks like ballerina toe shoes. These are by Miu Miu and have a cute little bow.

To juxtapose a look I would pair these with edgy or more masculine pieces.

I know it is not turtleneck weather, or at least not for much longer, but this would be a piece you would pull out year after year.

The colour is great and the fringe hems make it interesting and not a basic turtleneck.

I really like orange, but I don’t think I own anything in the colour. The collar on this Saint Laurent Blouse can be left slightly standing and open like this, or done all the way with an updo.

It is cotton so it is wearable most of the year depending on how you pair it.

Vintage Ralph Lauren is always a win, and these men’s tan corduroy trousers are the cutest ever because they have little embroidered ducks all over them.

How fun would it be to pair them with a tank or cami and just let the pants be the standout piece?

Banana Republic is also and another piece to search like this tuxedo front blouse in an ecru colour. It is a great alternative to a regular button up.

Something with a bit more interest.

Another Banana Republic piece is this safari jacket, which is another thing to keep an eye open for along with their leather bomber jackets that I talk about frequently. Vintage BR is so good.

I used to not be a hat person.

So much so that I refused to wear my high school graduation cap.

Now I am a hat person, and I really like this style. Bonus: it has an adjustable strap to keep it on your head, but also to hang from your neck when you take it off.

These two pieces go remarkably well together.

In the late 90s/early 2000s I was all about the silk camisole top. Fast forward to no,w and I am all about them again like this peach vintage Dior with lace.

An easy way to make an outfit dressy yet sexy.

A yellowy acid green colour is one of my favourites for the season, and this Proenza Schouler clutch is so cute.

Hello snake print. I see you taking over the animal print from previous seasons. It must be the 90s and Y2K influence on fashion.

Whatever the reason, I love it, and a snake print bag is on my wish list.

Brown cotton denim, blazer from Fendi? It is such a great piece with a strong academia vibe. ANd because it is cotton, it would make a great light jacket for spring and summer.

Asymmetric front leather jackets are a weakness of mine. I literally want to buy every one that I see.

I love how this one has that moto vibe, yet feminine with the little tie waist.

And lastly we have a classic wardrobe staple piece with this tan Marni pleated midi skirt. I want it.

I also wanted to showcase how trends do not have to be bought new, like butter yellow. This Ralph Lauren sweater is cotton and so perfect for this season.

It is also in one of the hottest colours right now.

That’s it!

Election anxiety is now over and I can’t wait to see what he does. I am also quite surprised that I only received one ignorant comment about the election which led to a quick reply and a block.

I have decided that I do not have the time nor the energy to deal with other people’s shit right now.

Have a great week, friends.
