Weekly Secondhand Finds XXI

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

I am glad this post fell on Earth Day because it feels appropriate. We all need to try and embrace seeking secondhand as the first option when looking to add new things to our wardrobes.

Some of my favourite or most treasured pieces are the ones that I have found shopping secondhand and vintage.

Be it via thrift store, consignment, or online, I have curated a collection that I am proud of.

I found some good things this week, so let’s jump in.

Lots of Etsy finds because I find myself on there a lot.

It is often easier to weed out the crap than it is on eBay and I have sourced some of my favourite pieces on there.

Is it jacket season? No, we are thinking about summer. Do I care?

No, because when you find something you like, even if it is off season,n then you grab it, or else you will probably regret it.

Especially if it is secondhand, because you may never see another one again.

I had a coat like this first one, but it was green and the collar was faux fur. Damn it was good, and I got rid of it.

Epic regrets. So when I say that this one is glorious, it comes from my soul. It reminds me of a vintage carpet bag, and it is amazing.

This second jacket is reversible. Two in one looks in suede. Brown on one side and animal print on the other, this is a gem.

Silver loafers are fun and will work in both spring and summer, where you depend on shoes and accessories to showcase your style rather than building looks through layers.

And yes, I will continue to share vintage bed jackets. This one is a light pink silk and lace and it is a great deal.

I have an obsessive need to search vintage Mugler. It is usually so expensive, and I get really excited when I find some affordable options like this skirt.

The blazer isn’t Mulger, but it is very Mugler coded. Meaning, it captures the same vibe that Mugler is known for.

Short-sleeved sweatshirts are a key wardrobe piece to me, and this one with the little devil face is so charming.

I am trying to control myself from buying it.

Besides the jackets that I shared at the top, this is another favourite of mine. It is like a Korean-style trench (the tie is in the back).

It is really unique and would be a key wardrobe piece you would have for years.

A 90s slip dress with a really great print and hemline? A fantastic summer piece.

And another great summer piece is this Y2K camisole top that would have fit well into last week’s Y2K-inspired summer capsule wardrobe.

I think that this first bag would work really well if you are drawn to the boho style, but don’t feel right in it. If that even makes sense.

Sometimes we are drawn to an aesthetic that we really like, but when we try to integrate it, it just feels inauthentic or wrong.

In instances like this, I suggest trying to add a piece or two and mix it with pieces that you usually wear.

It will feel wearable and more authentic, so if you like boho but avoid wearing it, maybe try a fringed bag.

A cool-tone grey minimalist leather bag by Ferragamo is basically a wardrobe staple, and the style is easy to wear.

Always on the hunt for vintage sneakers, and these vintage Puma Speedcats are in a glorious golden brown colour.

A while back, these vintage Helmut Lang boots were part of my roundup, but then the site they were on was listing them as unavailable, not sol,d which usually means that the person who was selling them consignment took them back.

I found them again, but being sold via eBay by the perosn I assume is the original owner.

Anyway, it is a second chance on these if you thought you missed them the first time around.

And lastly, we have a couple of things that I always look for when vintage shopping and that is anything vintage by Monet, like this adjustable tassel necklace.

And a perfume necklace.

Well, this one states a snuff container, but I am pretty sure it was a perfume one like the majority of similar styles.

Although a snuff necklace would have a better story to go along with it.

And that is it.

These are always my favourite posts because secondhand and vintage shopping is my passion.

So hopefully you find something you like, or it inspires you to search for something too.
