Weekly Secondhand Finds XVIII

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

Apparently, I spoke too soon about the ice storm passing us by because we have another ice warning in effect. Winter really doesn’t want to let go this year.

Not that I am in a rush for the heat and humidity, but a sunny 15° day would be nice.

I don’t really do spring cleaning, but I was motivated to get some stuff done today that has been piling up, waiting for me to deal with it.

It is nice to have that almost dealt with. The next step is bringing it down to the storage room.

This week there are a few things that I didn’t want to share because I wanted them for myself, but I am being good and letting someone else have the chance.

Some of my first finds are a couple of great leather jackets.

The first is a rich cognac colour in a mid-thigh length, and has a strong 90s minimalist feel to it.

The second is more 2000s with the lime green, but I am a sucker for coloured leather.

These snake print boots are one of the things that I am going to regret sharing because they are both awesome and in my size. Even sitting here right now I am trying to stop myself from going to order them.

This will probably be a regret.

The mules are also a snake print but in green and yellow. They would be fabulous in spring and summer.

I mentioned last week that I am feeling very skirt-focused for the upcoming hotter seasons. I always have a skirt in my warm weather roster but find that I rarely wear them.

This year I feel like I am collecting skirts. I think I have more in my wardrobe at the moment than I have ever had in my life.

The intention is there so let’s see how much I wear them as the weather warms.

This first one is a vintage Dior sport circle skirt. It is layered over a crinoline or something similar on the mannequin so that you can see how full it is.

Another coloured leather but this time a royal blue. This skirt is so badass and would be the key piece in a minimalist outfit.

Envision it: black skirt, black shoes, black bag, blue skirt.

I am pretty sure that animal brooches are my favourite like this Koi fish. It’s so pretty.

Do you like large earrings? These are a mod-style 1960s earring in mustard yellow. They are a large style with a clip-on back which makes earrings of this size much easier to wear.

I always really like it when a coat has mixed media like this vintage Moschino with a wool body and a knit collar and cuffs.

Check out the lining too. it’s beautiful.

You know when you usually find snake print jackets they are leather or something fake with a similar shine? This snake print is like a faux fur or velvet which makes it so much more interesting.

These Marni flats are so interesting.

Besides the completely wearable heel they have a flattened and riveted toe which make them much cooler than the average heel.

All animal prints in general are having a moment right now, so these square toed, zebra print mules are a winner of a shoe for spring.

I know that that these first Jil Sander trousers won’t appeal to a lot of people but Medieval is my favourite historical period and these have a medieval print on them.

So unique and fun.

Vintage Miu Miu, ankle-length khakis anyone? A great wardrobe staple piece.

And lastly we have a couple of bags.

This first Chloe bag reminds me of a ladybug and I love it.

The second bag is by Bally which makes such quality leather pieces. I love the minimalistic feel but the large metal clip in the front edges it up. This one would probably integrate well into anyone’s wardrobe.

That is it, friends. I think I am going to sleep on the pieces that I want and if they are still there late tomorrow morning then I may pick up one or two.

Here is hoping the ice passes by again.
