For some reason, I shared a lot of shoes this week, even shoe-shaped household items. I’m not sure why, but probably because I realized that I am a shoe person and I find myself losing a lot of time searching for shoes.
None in particular, just shoes in general.
But I do love a good coat and jacket, and now that there was a touch of spring in the air this week, I am looking forward to less bulky coat weather.
And for the snow to melt.
Capes are super trendy right now. Capes of all kinds, and this faux fur vintage model with a removable belt is probably my favourite find of the week.
I search for a lot of capes and I haven’t seen a vintage one quite like this one before.
Do you like vintage Celine? Because I have one for you. The A-line shape of this one is very 60s looking, but I believe it is from the 1970s.
I love a good a-line jacket, and the colour is perfect.

Let’s start the shoe journey with these loafers from Bally. The model is called Poker which makes sense.
If you have never searched out Bally (both old and new) you are missing out because they make some really fantastic pieces, especially their footwear.
I don’t wear a heel unless it is a kitten heel now. Actually, I don’t think I have ever been well-adapted to wearing heels. I just can’t pull it off.
These lovely blue vintage Miu Miu shoes have the most perfect little kitten heel. This colour is one of my favourites, and the woven design makes them perfect for spring and summer.
I think they are from 1999-ish.

If you ever get lucky enough to find a 1980s Banana Republic leather bomber jacket, grab it. That is a wish list item for me.
Although this brown suede safari jacket from Ralph Lauren grabbed me almost as strongly. I love everything about this jacket.
There were a few of them floating around in varying prices and sizes, so I am sharing the least expensive one that I saw.
On the other hand, we are heading back into the warmer weather and this school uniform style blazer, also by Ralph Lauren is made from linen.
It has that fitted silhouette so as to give you a different look compared to the oversized blazers we have been wearing for the past handful of years.

Once again, yes I like vintage ashtrays. No, I have never been a smoker.
But for some reason whenever I am thrift shopping I always end up with one or two in my cart. I like to find interesting or unique pieces like this brass shoes ashtray. Maybe I would use it to hold pens.
The green one is my favourite colour and I tend to buy things just because it is that colour.
Although I would absolutely use this as a jewellery catcher or for my desk for the bits and bobs that I am always losing track of.
My iPods, safety pins, change, chapstick, and even my readers could fit haphazardly in there.
I have a lot of random crap floating around.

Both of these are vintage Puma shoes, both serve different purposes.
These red high tops remind me of the blue Rasants that I just bought and love. This colour combination is pretty badass though.
The ballet flats are different from the more sporty flats of that time. These are bit more cute and feminine versus sporty and I like the look of them. You can’t go wrong with black leather either.

We have a vintage Stussy belt in the currently trendy cow print.
I have a thing for Stussy and have been searching for a decent tee or sweatshirt from the 90s. I haven’t found one yet though, because we apparently wore our Stussy until it was faded, stained, and ripping.
I will not be detoured though.
Also, the prettiest pair of vintage rose earrings.
Have you ever worn a screwback before? These are screwbacks which I find to be easier to wear than a clip-on. They always seem more secure to me.

When it comes to adding a bit of visual interest to your wardrobe, I love the addition of metallic.
There are many different ways to wear it from clothes, to shoes, bags, accessories, and jewellery. So today I have two different ways.
A gold bag which is about the size of a tote and would fit a laptop in it. A gold bag paired with a minimalist outfit is the only accessory you would need.
Plus, if metallics scare you then bringing in a piece that can be removed, and is not part of your actual outfit is an easier way to embrace it.
On the other hand, we have a piece for those that are bit more risk-taking in their choices. The metallic silver jacket is by Sandro and has a futuristic look to it as well.
Almost like how they perceived space and the future back in the 1960s. It has that kind of vibe, and I love it.

Last but not least is a shirt dress that is outside the box of a traditional shirt dress. This one bu Veronica Beard is ruched and asymetrical buttons which is also really forgiving if you don’t like to wear things that are bit more fitted.
This dress, the Bally loafers, and the gold bag would make an awesome spring and summer outfit.
I very much want this vintage Jil Sander leather skirt.
You know when you are in the market for a piece and you can’t really find out exactly what you want that checks all the boxes and is in your size?
This skirt checks all the boxes and is in my size.

Sigh, anyway secondhand first is always a good mindset, and don’t forget small businesses because they need us.
