I really look forward to the secondhand finds posts each week because it caters to one of my biggest passions which is secondhand shopping and sourcing.
My other passion is history with a strong focus on the history of fashion so it all kind of meshes together in a satisfying way.
Which brings me to this week’s finds.
There wasn’t a theme to this week but I did notice a little bit of an undertone of similarities which is obviously based on my tastes and where my head is this week.
Since it is the Chinese year of the snake I included a really beautiful vintage snake brooch. I love the shape and how it it has an almost ancient brooch feel in its look and design.
Opera length leather gloves are next, and the special part of these is that they have embroidered flowers running up them.
I am always looking for the pieces with the little details, they make the biggest impact.
Next up we are entering the time where we start to think about our spring wardrobes and these two pieces are perfect.
One, it is bed jacket season again.
I love vintage bed jackets because they dress up a plain old t-shirt or tank top look. And since I don’t just wear tank tops, it makes this is a great lightweight layering option which has a ton of personality.
Light pink is starting to trend and I love how you can go back to a vintage piece and use it towards a current trend like the pink trench.
It is a great way to step out of the classic trench box. My biggest style advice is to always step outside the box a little bit.

More pink? I’m not usually a pink person but I think I am really feeling this lighter more salmon pink, especially paired with the camel. Such a lush combination.
This is a tote version of a Jackie bag. By that shape of the buckle it looks to be a Tom Ford era Gucci late 90s to early 00s.
The buckle shape changed throughout different designers and time periods and this is the same buckle that my Tom Ford era Gucci bag has.
The other bag is Furla and it is in my favourite blue. I have always loved the colder, grey toned blues like this bag. I also love Furla so it is a win-win.
Also, when you don’t veer towards colour in your wardrobe, having colour in your bag is a such an easy way to bring some visual interest.
We all know I love a good coat, and I will honestly say that I gasped when I saw this dark brown vintage Max Mara. The cape-like swing jacket fit, and funnel neck are what won me over.
Do you enjoy the preppy or academia style as much as I? Then youmight like this vintage Ralph Lauren wool, houndstooth blazer with elbow patches. It will instantly upgrade your outfit.

For some reason I was really drawn to these army green cargo-esque cropped trousers. I think they would be fantastic for sping and summer to pair with something really feminine.
For instance, I would wear these with a tank top, the bed jacket, and a little kitten heel mule in the summer. It’s like a mish-mash of styles.
I am not one to recommend sequins very often because of how damaging they are to the environment, but in this instance I will make an exception.
And that is because this dress is like the one and done dress. It can be used for any situation dressed up or down.
The style of it is very 1920s so it has a strong vintage feel which is why I think it is so versatile. It is also lined with silk.
It is stunning and the price is ridiculous. And by ridiculous I mean way cheaper than I thought it would be.

To me, both of these shoes are like staple styles that I think everyone needs a version of if they want a well rounded footwear collection.
Nude block heels, but almost not heels. They are by Ganni and look more like a ballet flat with a slight elevation. I love them and wish they were my size.
Then we have an oxford. I adore an oxofrd for an injection of androgyny in my wardrobe. The two tone, leather and suede brown is a nice touch and they have a very strong vintage look to them.
Is this 1980s necklace and earrings set over the top? Yes. Is that why I love it? Also, yes. This is a statement set that you could wear together but I would wear separately.
Pair it with your minimalist outfit for a sudden punch of “not so minimalist am I?”
Brooches again with a lovely gold tone abstract design in a larger style. I am drawn to a big brooch, and the abstract although vintage is very modern looking when paired with a modern outfit.

Let’s move on to the last few, starting with shoes.
On one side we have a very classic and quiet luxury-ish pair of square-toed Prada kitten heels mules, on the other side we have some really fun Issey Miyake square-toed, leather sandals in blue.
They both can do the same job but the end results are so different. It’s fun how something small like a pair of shoes can completely alter the feel and intent of an outfit.

Are you still with me?
The last two for the week, first is the perfect spring bomber jacket. The leather is worn in, and the style will give your outfits a casual masculine effect.
The last one is a Ralph Lauren teddy sweater which are highly sought after and usually priced much, much higher than this.
I love the teddy sweaters and after their recent advertisement with the interactive teddy I think they will be even more highly sought after.

That’s it, my friends.
I hope this gets your secondhand shopping creative juices flowing.
While I hate the idea of the cold weather going and spring rolling in, I like to make sure I am prepared for the season and this year is all about integrating secondhand into your current wardrobe.
