I am in the market for a full-length raincoat. Something in a bright colour would be fun, but I’d also like a black or other neutral colour for versatility’s sake.

I feel like this spring might be a really rainy/stormy one and having weather appropriate gear is a must.

It can get excessively windy in this area due to the tall buildings making wind vortexes at street level, which then makes having an umbrella difficult at times.

I would love a Stutterheim, especially this one, but they are so expensive. Then there is rains, which is more reasonable but they don’t have the length I want.

Anyway, that is my current wardrobe hole that needs to be filled, since I haven’t had an actual rain jacket since I was a small child.

The rain boots I do have, so at least that is a step in the right direction. I love walking in the rain, and not getting wet would be ideal.

  1. This has reminded me that I need a new raincoat. I’ve got a really cute one from the Rodarte collection for Target that came out 100 years ago, but it’s too thin for English rainstorms, especially when I am dependent on public transportation. Even back home it would sometimes be too thin, but at least back then I would just be going from a car to a building.

The RuPaul item has reminded me, my best friend’s brother has roadied for touring drag queens, including several Ru girls, and has told me he can hook me up with backstage passes next time I see him.

    • Yeah, you need a substantial one if your going to be out in it for anything longer than car to building. I think I’m going to keep an eye open on the secondhand market for a Stutterheim. I’m just wary about the sizing because it’s suggested size for me doesn’t seem right. Zara has a bright red ankle length one I like but I don’t know how waterproof they consider waterproof. This is the shitty thing about so many retail stores closing is that you can’t see things in person anymore.

And what a gig it would be to roadie for drag queens. I imagine it would be more fun than travelling musicians. Definitely get those tickets.
