Did you manage to get everything done for Christmas? I even managed to get the cats’ stocking stuffers today, so I am feeling somewhat accomplished.

I only have one gift that didn’t manage to arrive on time, but I knew it probably wouldn’t when I ordered it so it’s not that big of a deal.

It will be a nice after Christmas surprise.

But, the wrapping hasn’t been done yet.

I suck at wrapping. Like toddler-level wrapping skills. I am a great gift picker, but wrapping goes in the same category as my penmanship skills. Terrible.

I enjoy watching videos of fancy wrapping techniques, but I can never apply those newfound skills.

What I am making for Christmas dinner is also up in the air, so I should probably get on figuring that out tonight before I go to bed.

Maybe I’ll make tacos. Kidding…kind of.

Have a Happy Holiday, and see you sometime after Christmas.

  1. Presents are done and wrapped, even the Santa presents. I’d like to goto the supermarket today or tomorrow and grab like a mini bottle of wine or champagne for my stocking. My husband’s family stopped doing stockings for adults when my daughter was born, so I haven’t had one since 2015, but this year the kiddo asked Santa to bring me a stocking as well, which is so incredibly sweet. I know if I left it up to anyone else I would either get terrible stuff or it just wouldn’t happen, so I’m doing the mom thing and filling my own stocking. But hey, at least Santa’s giving me some good stuff! 😉 Also I have a plush cat for her stocking that I got a week ago and can’t find now. I do have a backup but ugh.

I ordered a Magic Mixie cauldron for kiddo months ago because it was on sale for half off. One of the big ones, that makes noises and mists. And when she wrote her list she asked for a Magic Mixie cauldron – but one of the little ones that is just a plain cauldron that doesn’t make noises and is a quarter of the price. So now I’m just holding on to this giant cauldron for who knows how long. I would have just given her both but she’s also getting a Switch, so that would have been overkill.

I loved the Beastie sweatshirt in yesterday’s post. Back in the day I used to post on their message board and Yauch used to post on there fairly often. He actualy responded to one of my posts once, which still makes me smile when I think of it. RIP MCA.

    • We give ourselves the best presents when it’s left up to us, so enjoy your stocking. I looked up that magic cauldron and it’s so cool. I miss the age where they want stuff like that. Now I have to search high and low for very specific items and collectables for them 😂

I Hope she enjoys her Switch! Mario Cart is literally the only game I like and I’m good at so I really like the switch too.

Not seeing the Beastie Boys in concert before he passed is one of my biggest regrets. That’s so cool he responded to you. The early days of the internet were awesome for that. What a great memory to have.

      Happy Holidays ❤️

  2. I started in November when Mariah Carey says “It’s Tiiiiimmee!!!” So I’m good this year.

    • Yay! I bought my first present in June I think, but with the Hollywood strike and my husband working in tv/film I knew I had to get on it early to spread the cost out.

Good on you for listening to Mariah’s wise advise! I’m about to venture down to the mall for something I forgot in my grocery order yesterday and I’m scared it’s going to be hell on earth 😂 maybe I’ll get lucky and it will be quiet. Wishful thinking.

      Happy Holidays!
