I had to drop some stuff at the post office today, so I thought that I would go to the post office at the mall to also check out some things at Uniqlo. I spotted them online but wanted to see what they looked like in person, and how they fit.

Everything that I wanted to try on was in the men’s department, and men’s clothing is something that I can’t guess a size in.

Luckily they had them there.

My visit was for me, but also for my youngest because now that we have determined that she likes the dark academia style I can actually start to source things for her.

The first thing was a men’s merino wool sweater in green. They have the same style sweater in the women’s, but she is like me and likes a long, more relaxed fit.

I find that women’s sweaters can be too fitted and tend to end at hip length (and have a tight waistband).

I’ve mentioned many times that when a store has the same sweater in both men and women’s sizes, I usually get the men’s because it is a more relaxed fit.

Plus they tend to have better colours.

The other thing I wanted to look at was a pair of dress trousers.

I tried both the brown and grey and want one of each, but I picked the grey for myself today and brought them home, so she could try them on for size.

I’ll order us both the brown pair online since they didn’t have as many sizes available in that colour.

The brown doesn’t seem to be on the US site, but this is the grey glen check.

I think that I might get a size down in the brown, so I can have two different fits.

Anyway, I am happy that I can finally start putting together a small capsule wardrobe for her. She has a small collection of sweaters, and now I need to work on the bottoms and footwear before the weather completely changes over.

I was also tempted to buy a few more pairs of socks from their rainbow sock wall, but I couldn’t remember all the colours I already have and didn’t want duplicates.

And I’ll say it again, they have the easiest, quickest, and most efficient self-checkouts.

I wish all stores had them like that.
