Weekly Reads and Finds

Last week was the dishwasher (which is still leaking and not fixed) and this week was the car. This one is so obnoxious that it’s almost laughable.

A few weeks ago Tom left on a Monday morning to got to work.

He called me as soon as he got out of the garage (no cell reception down there) and said the car was making horrible sounds.

He thought it was the muffler so decided to park it again and then borrow a vehicle from work until we got it fixed.

Since he had another car we waited to make the appointment, because he thought it was the muffler and would be covered by our lease warranty so it wasn’t a rush.

The appointment was this past Monday and literally, 20 minutes after taking it there, Tom called me to tell me it wasn’t the muffler.

Someone climbed under our car and sawed off the catalytic convertor. How insane is that? The garage has security cameras and patrol, and you need to have a sensor fob to get into it.

Apparently, this is a common thing because these converters have platinum in them which makes them have a high sell value.

The best part is that they cost several thousand to replace. Our insurance will cover it but it will still cost us a $500 deductible.

I had to file a police report and the bastards were caught on camera committing the crime, although they had on face masks so chances are they will never be caught.

It’s been super fun lately 😉
