Weekly Reads and Finds

Well, they decided to lock us down again. But here is the kicker. It’s just for the Toronto/Peel region which makes no sense because although we are the hotspot, people will be travelling 15 minutes outside the city borders to eat and shop and just spread it outwards.

So this is lots of fun. I love it when they tell you this at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Friday to go into effect at 12:01 am Monday.

This weekend is going to be Chaos.

The number of people that will be panic shopping this weekend will be insane.

It’s like a bloody group project where only one or two people actually do the work, and the others goof around doing what they want and end up ruining it for everyone.

Just wear a mask, people. Wear a mask and don’t have gatherings. We could have kept this under control if people weren’t so selfish.

Dammit.

On a positive note, I have done most of my birthday and Christmas shopping for the girls.

Anything else I can most likely order online. And to encourage online shopping instead of Black Friday in-store shopping, most stores have already started offering their Black Friday sales.

  1. The state and city governments back home have been mostly useless, but the little they have done (like mask mandates) have gone into effect immediately. There are no open ICU beds in my home state and yet my family is still horrified when I update them on what’s going on in the UK. Seriously what even is the point of announcing a mask mandate or lockdown several days before it goes into effect? It’s just led to mass (and mask-less) protests and nonstop partying for several days!

On a less rage-inducing note, my Charlie Brown Christmas dance of choice is the twins in purple go-go dance head shake move.

    • Ugh. Yes. Apparently there were line ups to get into the local mall today even before the mall opened. If that doesn’t spell shit show disaster I don’t know what does.

They really should have done this in September/October when the numbers started to increase and they predicted this outcome. It could have been prevented.

Locking down a city during the time of year with the highest suicide rates is going to go so badly. I’m so mad at selfish people who brought us to this point.

And yes. That is my favourite Charlie Brown dance too. My brother and I used to try to act out that scene when we were kids. 😂
